I can't remember what accounts I have linked and I have to call in to find out!

You need a spreadsheet, or at least a big chart!

You're actually right, so many accounts, chequing and savings. Some companies allow savings account linking and I prefer that so I get interest right away. So not knowing what I have linked until I call is a drawback. It really should be in the interface.

I actually have a diagram with arrows showing direction and connection of links.

Constantly redrawing it with the computer was a pain, and I just keep the big diagram and use Liquid Paper (R) on it.

Has anyone succeeded in pulling funds out of Hubert by creating a link to Hubert at another FI or is the only option to push out of Hubert?

If push, what is the typical time it now takes for Hubert to actually process the transfer. A couple of years ago I had to wait 5 days before Hubert actually initiated the transfer to my external FI.

Yes I use Oaken as a hub. But always be aware of any “holds” that you may create. Using Oaken, I “pull” large amounts out of Hubert. For small amounts I use the free e-transfer option to move funds out of Hubert.

I avoid calling Hubert (but do when there is no other option) and have refrained from using them for new funds or reinvesting.

But just to be aware, my last “push” out of Oaken took 5 days.

I have a table in a spreadsheet. Column 1 for the FI I log into. Column 2 for the accounts at other FI's I can push/send to and the accounts from which I can pull/draw from. Easy to understand and maintain.

I setup our TNG, OAK and EQB accounts to have access to Hubert HISA's. We don't use EQB much due to lack of joint GIC's there. But I have used both TNG and OAK to pull funds from maturing HUB GIC's; TNG as recently as Sep 2024, OAK Jan 2024.

I have made very few Hubert-to-other-institution transfers in the last year, but today I had occasion to make one. I thought I'd post this: That a call to a Hubert CS rep at 9am PST to ask for a push of funds to a BC credit union resulted in the funds disappearing from my Hubert acct in less than two hours. That is, my request was not lost, and was acted on quite quickly. I will post again when I see the funds in BC.

Even though we lost Internet Banking at Hubert, I find their staff, particularly original Hubert staff extremely helpful and friendly. Some even remember dealing with me in the past, so they claim...
What they do now is they note your request and either they do it a little bit later or somebody else does it. It used to be they would do your request (open/close GIC, etc.) on the spot while you were on the line. Now it is done 'a little bit later' which requires you to log in in a few hours to confirm your instructions have been followed to the letter.

I also believe there may be some CSRs in the mix that are ex Accelerate as well.
Yes, it appears to me that our requests, hopefully, get passed accurately to a “back office” with more competent individuals to handle the request, than the first point of contact. My guess, due to multiple mergers in a similar time frame, someone decided that was the most efficient way to handle.
So many things changed or were dropped entirely because the Access system just doesn’t compare to the old Hubert system. Maybe new Hubert customers will remain….but older may not.
It’s unfortunate when you do have a major problem, there is no way of escalating the issue.

To follow up my post of Friday, Jan 10, when at noon PST I asked Hubert to push funds to a BC credit union, I report that the funds left Hubert within hours, and did not appear in BC on Sat or Sun, but this morning, 7 am, Monday, Jan 13, they do appear in my BC account.

I remain amazed that bank computers don't work weekends and statutory holidays.

Bank computers are often at the mercy of legislation that limits the hours and days when some actions can be taken.

And would you want all those lightning-fast computers left without any humans watching the store over weekends and holidays?

ATM's, Debit cards and Credit cards run 24x7. Some branches run 6 days/week.

Doesn't matter. They are not fully processed until the next business day. In some cases, the transactions aren't even fully accepted until the next business day because required staff aren't in on the weekend.

I deposited a large cheque into a BMO account one Saturday. Teller informed me that the cheque is above her transaction limit. She could accept the cheque for deposit but could only release the hold up to her limit and not up to the full amount of the cheque. No one in the branch that day had the required transaction limit! So, there would be a hold on some of the funds until Monday morning. I said that was okay as I wasn't planning to withdraw any of the cheque that weekend.

As Norman1 said. And yes, many things do operate on Saturdays, rarely Sundays or statutory holidays.
