Actually, as one of the "older crowd", I appreciate mobile deposit capability just as much as a millenial because I don't like going to the bank any more than they do

And I don't think Hubert lets you deposit at another ATM on the Acculink network, so you have to mail cheques in. Most FIs let you deposit at any ATM on the same network, whether they have a mobile app or not.

That's only because Hubert doesn't issue a debit card. They have no plans to issue one; I've suggested it on many a survey. That said, I think what Londonguy meant by mobile deposit is the Hubert GO app. I suspect that's something we'll be seeing in the next year or two now that they've migrated Hubert to the same online banking platform as Sunova.

Sunova, by contrast, is definitely on the Acculink ATM network, so Shawguy can deposit funds at any credit union ATM in Canada (save for Meridian, since they're not on Acculink sf-wink) into his Sunova account.

Cheers,
Doug

If you want, you can still see & use the Old (original & faster) format, if you Login via their 'Home' page. That's what I prefer.

Having just spent too much time deciphering mine and spouse's December statements from Hubert, and having ultimately found a significant error, my reaction to the new website is, "so what?"

Hi Loonie. Could you describe what the significant error was on your statement without giving out too much of your own information? Just want to know what to watch for. Thanks.

Hi. I have to agree the Hubert statements SUCK. But I did notice a very small change....there are two sets of page numbers. So whatever the undecipherable reason of grouping is now improved by using the new set of page numbers. I don’t have cash at Hubert but would like to see a clearly separate statement for GICs for Non Registered, TFSA, RRSP and RRIF. They seem to like to throw any type registered GICs on same page. And we are supposed to know what type of investment it is based on their unfriendly acronyms. Tell me what the original value GIC is, the GIC type, interest for year 1, year two etc and total value to date. New page per GIC type, clearly marked. It’s our paper we are printing it on!!

And the new web site......I was used to the old one.....and for the two new visits....what has improved?

I think/hope the error was unique enough that, if they read this blog, it would identify me to them if I posted it, so I have decided not to post it.
I would just say, make sure any verbal instructions you may give are accurately reflected on your statement. They have corrected it, but not entirely to my satisfaction as they say they are unable to correct a statement, no matter how quickly we report an error. As the error was made on the last day of the month, I had no opportunity to correct it earlier.

If you're in a rush for tax slips, you can always log in to CRA, they may already be there.

RIF T slip arrived by post here today from Hubert, so T5 for interest can't be far behind.

Print a record of a transfer???? WHY???? How about saving it to PDF?

1. I live in BC where there is a lot of wood pulp to make paper etc.
2. I use both sides of my paper
3. 89.785% of my files are in PDF format.
4. I receive very few statements in the mail. Although I throw away a handful of unwanted and unread junk advertising that is mailed to me, that goes directly to recycling.
5. I only put my recycling out when it is full every month or so to help reduce the carbon footprint created by the recycling pick up truck.
6. I was pointing out the stupidity of Hubert’s format for a simple from/to transfer.
7. If it is any of your business, when I want to print something on paper that best suits my methods, I WILL!!

I really HATE the new web interface:
1. Old interface gave a somewhat detailed listing of all my accounts (HISA, US$, GIC, TFSAs etc) and I could do a simple scroll down to see everything.
2. Detail: Acct type + Interest rate + total holds + actual balance and the TD/GICs showed the rate + maturity date + next interest date + balance. I loved this!
3. On new site when I've done a funds transfer the system made duplicate transfer and I had to quickly "chat to fix" or go to my other account to top it up.
4. I've asked them to add or include a "confirm" option. Additionally there is no "confirmation number" when doing a transfer like on the old site.
5. I've been a client since 2013 and for over 6 years now I asked (numerous times) for this option when creating a new TD/GIC --- Where should funds transfer to on maturity? NOT just auto-renew which is not an option but the default. They kept saying there were upgrades coming ... coming ... coming for 6 years now.

I plan on calling them Feb 18th to vent but I know this totally a waste of my time. Bottom line I'll live with the change and continue to complain to them how in my view they've taken three or more steps backwards.

I HATE it too ... for all the same reasons ^, And More

Hats Off to Hubert (Sunova CU) for Trying, but unfortunately the new website is 'Far Worse' than the old one. What the HECK were they thinking❓

After a week of using their new website (with Frustration), I gave up and went back to using the old one. If they ever delete the option of using their old website, I'll be moving all my $$$ elsewhere.

Hubert & Sunova CU (we know you're watching) ➡ ... Please Take Note❗

P.S.
This is NOT about failing to 'Accept Change' ... this is All about Hubert going from Bad to Worse. sf-confused

I think we all have a tendency to NOT accept change when what you had, worked and what is new, requires new skills.

And since I don’t use this FI for day to day.....and I don’t think you could.....and I am sure Hubert knows this. I go online once a month to verify balances and every quarter I may have a GIC or two to renew. So it is a unwanted task to famIliarize yourself for something that is not used that often. I have less and less $ there as Oaken usually beats the Hubert non registered rate AND Oakens online application that includes directions of funds at maturity once again beats out Hubert.

I do really like managing my RRSP RRIF withdrawals from Hubert and will likely stay but only with RRIF RRSP. And move all other out as I have been doing anyways. And will keep using the old site for as long as they keep it alive.

You would think from their surveys to us that they would have incorporated our ideas. But NO they opted not to. The new site may have some more options.......but who does it benefit?

I have to reiterate......the new site SUCKS!

The old site had a summary of all investments showing amount, start date and maturity date. New site does not show maturity dates.

Last week - Tuesday or Wednesday I think - I sent an email / message to Hubert detailing all the features the old site had and the new site lacked. I also mentioned how I'd been asking since 2014 to add the option / choice to indicate where TD/GIC funds should mature. To me, someone who has been a computer programmer for over 20 insurance companies in Ontario, this add-on should have been no more than a "weekend" update. I begged them NOT to retire the old web interface.
To date I have not received a response. Unfortunately I don't believe they listen or care. Someone at Hubert has endorsed the new site and their position does not recognize the mistakes made.

After I closed my last post, I thought I should have also said.....who is this web site for.....the customer? Doesn’t seem to have any common sense does it? And what was the point of all their surveys and future surveys. They are blowing smoke.

... and Hubert is no longer as competitive as it once was sooooo I'll be moving my $ out to a competitor. LBC is 2.80% as of March 1st which is about Hubert's GIC rate for a 1yr. As of a few minutes ago I moved another $50K out of Hubert. Truthfully I don't believe someone or a group moving funds out will make a difference. They don't want to lose "face".

And I agree or understand GICinvestor. Who is this web site benefiting. On occasion I come by and check out the HISA tab but not much else.
