I was advised by Hubert in a chat session today that a new website will be coming in January. I was wanting some of my linked accounts to be renamed which you currently cannot do online. Apparently in January you will be able to do this.

I also requested in this chat that ALL my GIC's be marked TO NOT AUTO RENEW for the same term. He said he would do that for me. sf-smile

While I was at it I inquired if there was going to be any change to the Bank Statements format. He did not know if or when there would be any change in this regard.sf-frown

They have been saying the change is coming for almost a year. It's the same change Sunova got. The statements still look the same after the update. At least at Sunova they did.

. . .

This could be 'Great News', if they actually follow through and make some long overdue Significant Improvements❗

And wouldn't it be a Bonus if they also stopped treating us like little children, with their simple-minded, childish references (e.g. 'Happy Savings', 'Tickled Pink', 'Save Happy', 'Hubert Go', 'Lasting Happiness', etc. ... sf-confused).

Fingers crossed,

Dean

First part of the email sent this morning to clients

Out with the old and in with the new Hubert GO Web.

We know this update was long-awaited and we are so excited to share it with you. We considered all your feedback on our old online banking platform to create Hubert GO Web for you. Along with a new look and feel, we made some of these important improvements:

Self-serve password reset
Nickname accounts
Postdate transfers
Ability to create / modify recurring transactions
Option to start chat while in internet banking

There are a few items we are looking to add and adjust as the year goes on, but we wanted to give you access to use the new program now.

Having just spent too much time deciphering mine and spouse's December statements from Hubert, and having ultimately found a significant error, my reaction to the new website is, "so what?"

I really could care less about its features. What I want is an intelligible monthly statement, the kind that says things like 'Opening Balance" and "Closing Balance" and calls accounts by their proper names. Is that too much to ask/ Apparently yes.

I told you guys... Before it came not to expect anything special.

This new Hubert site does exactly what the New Sunova site does that was launched last Spring. Still same old statements at Sunova too. Lol

I agree their statements are atrocious, unfriendly and indecipherable. With that alone it would not encourage me to do day to day banking with them. Wake up Hubert, I am always looking for an FI to drop.

The interface is worse because you have to click view account to see the term details. I hope they keep happysavings.ca.

I am finding it slow to respond when i click too.

Just checked it out. Seems like a step backwards. Looks pretty, but preferred the old site where I could see all the info summarized on one page. Have to search each account now for interest dates, rates, maturity. Now just shows the balance. I'lll stick with the old one until it's not an option.

Sadly, this appears to be nothing more than a change of . . .

Note:

The new Hubert interface is disappointing - agree it seems to be a step backwards.
Still no mobile app, no mobile deposit capability, no interac e-transfers, etc. Perhaps this is fine with the "older crowd" but certainly not very "2020".

Actually, as one of the "older crowd", I appreciate mobile deposit capability just as much as a millenial because I don't like going to the bank any more than they do

Not ideal that there's no etransfers, but no problem with transferring between linked accounts. So still better than the big 5 banks that don't allow any external links, or some of the smaller credit unions such as Access that also don't allow any external links.
