I have seen people post that they have pushed funds to Hubert. I'm wondering if anyone has managed to link Hubert to their Simplii account. The final step Simplii requires is sending a void cheque or stamped PAD form - but is this possible to get from Hubert?

Of course I know you can link Simplii on Hubert's side and pull funds and then request to remove any holds, but getting a working method to push from Simplii would be preferable.

Don't know the answer but why not just do the reverse?

With your Simplii bank/route, branch/transit and account number, establish the link at Hubert (Accounts->External->Add). No paperwork required. In a few days you'll see 1 or 2 micro deposits in your Simplii account so that you can complete the link at Hubert ...

Hubert makes a nice Hub (pun pun) since you can have up to 30 external acccounts linked which should be enough for "most" people ....

Yes, absolutely. You just e-mail Hubert for a bank-stamped PAD PDF form. They'll e-mail you back a password-protected PDF form you can use. If you just explain your reason why the online one won't work with Simplii, they should oblige. sf-cool

This is definitely one of the disadvantages with Simplii Financial, who really need to modernize with the times and accept electronic VOID cheque forms at face value like nearly every other federally-regulated Canadian FI.

Note, I wouldn't try and link every Hubert HISA account you have. Just get a form for one account.

Cheers,
Doug

Advantage to linking on both sides is to push funds from Simplii to Hubert without any hold periods. Sure, you may lose one day's interest, if you time it right, but you don't have to wait to access funds. OTOH, it could be argued if transferring to Hubert, it's to stay there, so the hold is fine.

Cheers,
Doug

This is the reason why I have made Hubert my transfer hub. Unfortunately, when pulling funds into Hubert, I suffer one additional day of hold. I recently discovered that the hold is 5 days, but the day in which it appears does NOT count as one of those days. So, the same transaction takes one more day to release than it does at other places like Tang. sf-frown

From Hubert's current FAQ page:

"How long are my deposits I transfer in from another institution held?
All electronic transfers are held for six business days, but you start earning interest as soon as you see the deposit in your account."

I have simplii chequing and savings linked

I push and pull from Hubert

Funds going to my Simpii account have no hold, I use simplii as a middle man to push to the next account.

Works well

Terrific, I will try this. Have you (or KamWest) done it this way yourself? I ask because Simplii's final step seems to require mailing by post an "original" stamped form. I wonder if printing the PDF is acceptable, and if not, I wonder whether Hubert will mail an original to me. Simplii is archaic about this procedure as you say.
