So if this is the case, what was the whole point of the integration? If we are not Access credit union members, why couldn't they have left the fully functional Sunova system in place?

The whole point was that they did not want 2 different 'online only' banks under the Access C.U. umbrella.

Before the merger, Accelerate was under the Access CU umbrella already, so they kept that format and only kept the Hubert name and 1 or 2 products like the quarterly GIcs.

They dumped the Hubert software. Hubert accounts were moved to Accelerate software. Accelerate brand was dumped in favor of the Hubert brand.

Hubert now operates exactly how Accelerate operated before the merger, ie. you could log in to Access CU app and view your Accelerate accounts but you had to phone in to get anything done.

Merry Christmas to all.

Hopefully someone from ACCESS / Hubert reads this post.

The big question is ... will Access/Hubert offer HUBERT clients the same features as in the pre-integration version of Hubert ? And if so, by when? No one has ever stated what the future will be like.

#1 method of user authentication ( on phone call ) does not use a secret password/phrase etc, but rather asks birthdate or address ( i feel this is less secure than the previous method )

#2 was able to create new term GICs online ( must phone in now ) minor issue

#3 the Interac method of funds SEND / REQUEST to external bank is actually faster but too limited. There are per xfer limits ( push / pull limits are 6k$ and 3k$ respectively ), not to mention daily, weekly, monthly limits. The limits do not appear on the portal ( i have been unable to find it ), however you must speak to a CSR to find out.

#4 ( probably not Access/Hubert fault ), but I have tried to send $ from my external bank ( via interac ) but the function terminates with a message that Interac is not required for transfer to a local account ( does not recognize my account at Access/Hubert ).

I am not aware of anyone posting here identifying themselves as being from Access or Hubert.

So you may want to ask those questions directly to them.

BTW ...

Hubert did not use a secret password/phrase before integration.

The disappearance of self-serve capabilities is a problem for me and has caused me to reduce our funds at Hubert by more than 50%. All that's left is in GIC's that will mature in the next 18-30 months; if the functionality isn't restored by then, Hubert/Access will need very high rates to retain my deposits.

I am assuming this is a typing error as Hubert most assuredly did use what they referred to on initial telephone contact as "the secret password".

If they did I was never asked. Name, address, birthdate. That's all ...

I'm pretty sure I was asked for secret magic word at least once since the transition, but recently it seemed to be just the information questions. Thankfully they still ask the original member number, and I don't have to quote back that 16 digit payment card# monstrosity... 🙂

I was asked for secret word last week, but am not always asked for it. I was impressed that they even still had it on file after all these changes.

Well I'll Be !

Since the integration, I was under the wrong impression that the telephone-call password was no longer being used.

Thanks for the heads-up, Folks.

Last week I was also asked my secret word, and other times name, address, birthdate and even last three digits of SIN .

I was NOT asked for my secret phone word today when I called in to change renewal instructions on an upcoming maturing GIC , even after I gave the wrong membership number and did not show up in their system

To confirm my ID, he just asked my name, address, and noted that my phone number on his call display matched the one on file.

They're still there in the back end if you phone in. Tell Hubert where you want to transfer your money to, and they will ask you the account number of the other bank to confirm they have the right linkage.

I just see Hubert Financial web site https://happysavings.ca/forms-agreements/

" Forms:
External Account Link Authorization Form
Pre-Authorized Deposit Form
Pre-Authorized Withdrawl Form

Send in completed and signed forms to: SNAIL MAIL, EMAIL, FAX "

but I do not yet use this method, may be some one can tell us the experience.

Yes, there is no more self service transfer IN or OUT based on previous linkages. You may be able to self service transfer OUT if you set up a new linkage with the pre authorized withdrawal form, I haven't set up any since the merger to test that out.

Nope, I recently added my new Wealthsimple account - call in, Docusign the request, their system does the microdeposits, I confirmed back by phone at a later time. But the WS account isn't available online either - they simply don't have the external institution bits hooked into their online transfer interface right now (just transfers to another Access member). My impression is that this will come back eventually, and they just fell down in their integration and systems conversion schedule and had to drop it until some later round of programming. Certainly doing all EFT by phone would seem to be a step backwards, and extra load on their CSR resources, even with Interac transfer facilitating smaller amounts.

I've got Hubert hooked up at Wealthsimple (and elsewhere), so I can can "pull" from Hubert at those places, often preferable since some places will post the amount ahead of the transaction completing, so I haven't tried to "push" from Hubert through a CSR since the changeover.

U mean after signing docs, you can now transfer IN from WS to Hubert via WS, but no mechanism to transfer OUT from Hubert side at all ?
If so, thats even worse. The inability to easily transfer OUT means I wont park another dime at Hubert, no mattter the rate.
I look at Hubert cuz they still seem to offer the highest 2y rate, but their lack of self service options enuf to stop me.
Sounds like when my solo GIC matures, I have to call them to transfer it back to me, or they upgrade their system by then...

Tried calling Hubert late morning ... was 26th in queue.
Tried again just now -- queue is totally full -- can't even leave message and they direct you to their site - ha! (where you can no longer do anything useful).
Yes its first business day of the year but just demonstrates how important digital facilities are & how crazy it was to remove them.

I got some stuff done via chat. I like that they will still do that. Phone worked but I did notice a queue and this was a new experience for me with Hubert. Transfers are gone for now. Interac is now available I got some money moved that way for free. It is still happysavings.ca for now. How long until the full merge? I think the worst thing you can do as one of these institutions is implement transfer out fees. It is a pet peeve no-no for me.
