I will have to call in to speak to a CSR to transfer money to/from external FIs and create new GIC. I guess I am not prepared for the new Hubert digital experience. This reminds me of how banking used to work before the 90s.

I can foresee there will be a long wait on the phone, which will increase the work load on the call center CSRs and upset customers waiting on the phone.

Many existing customers will become past customers and if I were a potential new customer I will be driven away by these new features.

So, transfers in/out of Hubert initiated at Hubert will require CSR assistance.

What isn't clear to me is whether transfers can be managed from other FI's like TNG or Oaken where I have some of our Hubert accounts linked.

What describe is what Peoples Trust can be like. But I do believe it has improved now that Covid is under control.

I think on the Hubert side you will not be able to push or pull. BUT could you pull funds say while in Oaken or Peoples Trust "from" Hubert?

It's quite ok. Between the two, our 'question' should be clear ...

It's a great question! But when will we know the answer? Probably some time after September 24.

I've got a pull from Tang planned for later this week, but I don't know whether that would work the same after the integration.

I printed copy the 10 pages of the “integration”. I think the answer is there.

But you can transfer your money in Hubert to another Hubert customer. Same canned CU Package as is Van City.

Squeeze fingers out to enlarge on a tablet.

So one needs to truly PULL their money out from another FI. i just set one up at PT. I knew there was a reason to do that, 2 months ago.

It would be a step backwards if depositors cannot initiate online their "me to me" transfers to and from externally linked accounts, and one will have to phone a rep to do the transfer manually. I wonder what the rationale is for that? Perhaps they want control of how much funds are being transferred out for maintaining their own liquidity.

Some 55 Chevs have chrome and some had none.

Access has gone with the stripped down, no chrome, CU package. Look how big they have gotten, how many customers are remote, remote customers have a narrowed call in window due time zones and they choose a poor package. For most of us, the Hubert platform was good but may not for the rest of the Access customers. I don’t think it will be modified unless some one does a cost review.

I'm wondering, if Hubert is going to start using Access Credit Union for online banking ? I know Accelerate has been using it.
And, what will happen to people that are members of both banks ? is Hubert going to reuse the username/password already created for Accelerate account ?

If you have both. After conversion log into Hubert as usual and your Accelerate accounts will be there.

I will not accept their new "lack of digital experience". Not able to self transfer and unable to buy a GIC online is the digital part that I care, and something they are removing.

I chat with a rep yesterday and he confirmed one can still initiate a pull from a linked FI, just cant initiate a push or pull from within Hubert.

I just found this, see https://cusuccess.accesscu.ca/hubertfinancial
see 'Note' under 'Online Banking'
Actually, the Accelerate username/password will be reused in this case.

Just catching up on this thread, and way too much uncertainty, and loss of online functionality for me. Our (3) Joint 1yr GICs, total just under $100K, reach 2nd Qtr milestone Aug 27th, and for sure, we'll be gone. Not sure where just yet, but that's ok ... just not leaving it here

This is Very disappointing as we loved pretty much everything Hubert as it is, but soon won't be. All good things come to an end eventually, I guess. 🙁

I wouldn't be surprised if the loss of self-serve transfers "at this time" is in some way an IT or transitional issue. They may still be working on the interface, or don't want to turn loose the underlying transfer tech to unattended customer interaction until they are sure it is working cleanly. The transfer ability sounds like it is still there under the hood for their staff to trigger for you, and with staff in the loop they'll be able to keep an eye on things for awhile. It might be something similar with the UI for GIC purchase, etc - I have trouble believing it would be a deliberate longterm goal to have humans in the loop for transfers outside the interac limits.

Interac transfers would be a different tech system they are connecting into.

The annoying thing is that of course you can't set up transfer accounts at a bigbank like TD to push into Hubert.

Yeah, the "Term Deposits" section actually has an explicit "We are working on a new account opening experience...While we work through [that]...Additional details regarding self-serve options to follow."
