I agree. And nothing is better. Including no show of successor.

You have to match GIC numbers on both statements for proof of joint.

I do have all my paper copies of original input that show, though.

Pathetic, I know.

While I consider myself a numbers guy, I only like account numbers as a reference but not as a good choice for simple personal account identification.

So our accounts all have nicknames. In the examples that follow, I show HIM and HER in lieu of our (Spouse & I) initials.

HIM HISA
HER HISA
HIM HER HISA (HIM = Primary)
HER HIM HISA Health (HER = Primary)
HIM GIC ##
HER GIC ##
HIM HER GIC ##
HER HIM GIC ##
HIM TFSA HISA
HER TFSA GIC ##

Sometimes, I have something like HIM Jnt HISA and HER Jnt GIC which also works fine for us but many might prefer to stick with initials of account owners.

In my spreadsheet, I use something similar and prefix each account with a 3 letter FI acronym as in ...

HUB GIC HIM HER 02
SCO CHK HIM
RBC CHK HER
TNG HISA HIM HER
TNG HISA HER HIM
OAB GIC HIM HER 03 (Oaken Bank)
OAT GIC HER HIM 04 (Oaken Trust)

I just tried to e-transfer from my external account and it seems the limit is $3000 not $6000 as they said it would be.

Ah when requesting money from an external account via e-transfer the limit is imposed by the external account something they failed to mention.

You were on the Hubert site and did a “send money”
OR
You were on another banks site and did a “request money”

I use codes too, to do a consolidated statement.
You have some good ones for sure.
To show wife’s vs mine, I did a worksheet for me .... my registered stuff and joint ..... and a separate work sheet for her registered stuff only.

Also have codes for TFSA and RRSP

And has a built in 5 year ladder report.

I built my spreadsheet pre Home Bank....so all records say OAK.

Having been told that my wait time is 10 min, I'm waiting for a call back for 30 min now. Their new web site being pathetic, the phone is the only option of dealing with them now, so any motivation to stay with them quickly evaporates.

I agree the new web site is lacking in some functionality like Transfers and DIY Account setups, calling it pathetic is a big stretch ...

Trying to transfer funds between my accounts, getting an error message. Really, nothing works now. From SNAFU to FUBAR?

Not a stretch at all. Every web site that does not work is pathetic. Theirs does not, so it is pathetic. Missing important information, throwing errors, slow as hell. All of these make it pathetic. I've seen hundreds if not thousands of much better banking sites that are miles ahead. Not sure what your experience in this area is, so there is nothing to measure your comment against.

Still waiting for a call back, by the way. This call time is pathetic too.

I would tend to set up new links with the new transit number, as they may phase out the old transit number at some point (hopefully giving us ample notice beforehand).

I did the set-up with Tangerine to link my "Hubert Acc't" with them.

At the Hubert Home page I clicked on the Void Cheque. It has the F.I. as Accelerate Financial. So I used the "new" transit number. The info after filling out the details with Tangerine has the F.I with Accelerate as well so we'll see what happens. In a couple of days a small amount of funds from Tangerine will be deposited into the Accelerate Savings Account. I really do hope it is a small amount, because I only have $9.00 in my Tangerine Account!!

I realize you all seem to know this but it is confusing for sure. For instance on my old Hubert print out of account holdings it only shows my 5 digit Membership Number and no account numbers. All transfers would show that number.

The new print outs showing acc't holdings have ACCESS C.U. as top of page Logo, but shows all acounts under Hubert Financial with separate numbers attached to each investment. On the Accelerate Financial VOID cheque the acc't number is a 12 digit one.

Yep, I'm totally confused but I do have all documentation of hard copy. sf-embarassed

There should have been at least 2 boxes to select that were HISA. One box is Hubert and one Accelerate. Click the other box for the void Hubert cheque.

I was told to just wait for October statements to see my variable RRIF interest that didnt get posted in September, and then they said going forward in the future if you see anything that isnt right call us. So we have to be checking all the time i guess. My Accounts were accelerate, I didnt even have a Hubert account.

Yes! No 2 happens

You should always monitor all your accounts at all institutions to ensure everything is as expected. That is one reason most of us want timely accurate statements with information appropriate for record keeping and auditing.

I 'Access'ed my account statement from Sep22-30 last night, and its a much better format than the Sep1-22 statement was... it is clear and concise, and has much of the information that the website is missing on it. I have criticized them alot on this thread, but have to give them some kudos on this one.

My "Hubert" linked account with Tangerine was a success!! Thanks for suggesting it. I will now be able to transfer my yearly GIC interest payments with Hubert into my Tangerine HISA!! So problem solved. FYI, The linked F.I. with Tangerine is "Accelerate Financial" so I used the new transit number of 44857 and bank number 879. sf-embarassed
