For those who wish to express their views to someone at Access who should care, I am told the person is:

Vice President of Virtual Banking: Greg Rutherford

He can be reached at greg.rutherford@accesscu.ca

In an attempt to get some transfers done between Hubert and some other FIs, I used the Hubert phone number and asked for a call back. I was told that would be about 17 minutes; an hour later I finally get a robotic voice calling me to say that someone would be with me shortly. Instead, I got a series of static and clicks and nothing else for several minutes. So I hung up, and used the Hubert chat to get a promise someone would call me 'tonight' - I hope that means before midnight!?

The agent did tell me that they are not limited in what amounts you can transfer using them as intermediaries on the phone. Thus, unlike the E-transfer which seems to be limited to $20,000 per month, calling in is "better". (gee, imagine you had say $200,000 at Hubert you wanted to move out by E-transfer - it would only take you ten months!)

I sure hope Access gets their game together soon, especially allowing clients to move money around to other FIs themselves via the web site.

Among other issues, I noticed that on their FAQ, it now says they will only link up to 3 external accounts. For now at least, you can keep the ones you had but this will not be attractive to newcomers. They obviously still have the capacity to allow more, but have chosen not to. It seems they want to hold our money captive for as long as possible.

Are you saying we will have an online push pull? Or is that still a call to Hubert?
My Accelerate Account was a savings account but to use the ATM card, the account used on the screen was “chequing”.

To add insult to injury, at least one of their pages now labels my HISA as a chequing account. Would that Hubert actually offered cheques, to circummvent the 10K limit.!

I plan to pull all my cash money out of Hubert, due to Hubert non confidence situation. They say that either or an Accelerate or Hubert pull link will work. But do admit they are still different transit numbers. Perhaps cross referenced? But maybe screwed up too? My money was from Accelerate so was suggested to use the Accelerate link. This pull will be temporary until things settle down.
Apparently you can still use your ATM card or the Accelerate cheques until some time in December, if that helps.
Am also in process to transfer out all TFSA cash as well. The TFSA was always in our plans and has nothing to do with the Hubert non confidence situation.

The only thing left at Hubert that is potentially worthwhile is the quarterly one year GIC., but I am getting much better rate right now in savings at 3 different FIs, so why bother? - at least for non-registered.

I like them too, the quarterly. I hope they keep them but for some reason I doubt it. But time will tell and plans are made to be revised.

If I were Larry Davey, I'd be out looking ofr another job asap.

Maybe....but maybe the “peon” in charge should be. Or if just new....will be written off as learning experience. I must admit the phone service is still excellent. I was afraid that the new Accelerate folks would take over the helm under the direction of Bree (who is not customer service oriented) ... but so far hasn’t appeared.

My plan at present is to give them untilk year end to clean up their act in a seriousway. And I think they need to let us in on profit sharing - should there be any.

Yup. My end all plan is similar. Pull out all TFSA, pull out some RRIF, keep quarterlies, non registered cash, an some RRIF. If quarterlies go....that money will go elsewhere. (I can still open up Oaken Bank or Peoples Bank) I have RRIF with Oaken and you know how your hands are tied there! So extra RRIF withdrawals are easier at Hubert. Will give it a few months.

But watching Oaken’s rules of withdrawals, one can manipulate smaller amount GICs to enable full withdrawals annually....to meet your plans.

My pull (hubert to eqbank) worked. I believe i just set up the transfer yesterday, the link was set up years ago. The hold is annoying.

i had 4 of my accounts not post interest, 2 RRIF variable accounts, and 2 RRIF GICs that had an anniversary date of yesterday and should have had accured interest posted like it always did in the past. Ive called multiple times and they keep saying give it a few days. i was getting angry so asked for next level, instead they gave me one of the old accelerate staff which at least sent my request to the IT dept and said he'd give me a follow up email tomorrow. i will let bloggers know tomorrow if i get that email . Thanks for the contact of the vice president of virtual banking, if i dont get anywhere tomorrow ill be contacting him .

At the online meeting they held a year or so ago to 'sell' us on the merger, I recall the CEO of Sunova CU (parent of Hubert) telling us what a great job the woman running Hubert had done. He really seemed very pleased with her - as he should have been. I think her name was Tanya or Tara - something like that.
So now she's been replaced by 'Greg', presumably from the Access side, and we have a big mess.
What happened to Tara/Tanya or whatever her name was???

Being told to wait a few days (or more?) for your interest to be credited at month end is simply not acceptable for any responsible FI that has not been hacked, yet they seem content to tell people this.

I pity the poor Carpathians; they don't know what they're in for.

Just downloaded statements for September from HUBERT.
Mine 31 pages....no HISA
Spouses 17 pages....no HISA

Hubert.....this is NO good!!!

Kinda wasteful if you print as instead of page breaks as necessary, we now have a page break per account. I review and save but never print so it's a minor issue for me ...

So far what I have found in those pages is Hubert ONLY investments, NO Accelerate!!! I think some one forgot to program in a summary like statement and now this!!! If you want a one pager you can now get that from the website but the info there is lacking on that one page.

The Oaken statement is for your HISA only though. So what I do is every month, I print to PDF all the pages available. Just to have a monthly record of what GIC's I have just in case something goes awry and then I can back track when any issue may have occurred.

Yes.

I have suggested to Oaken a Monthly version of their Annual Portfolio report but with transactions during the month ...

No reply, yet ...

An Open Letter to Access CU and subsidiary Hubert Financial.

To: Larry Davey, President & CEO, Access Credit Union
To: Greg Rutherford, Vice President of Virtual Banking, Access Credit Union
greg.rutherford@accesscu.ca

I am/was both a Hubert and Accelerate customer and was a happy customer with both, that is, until Access Credit Union took them over.

So as a Huberate customer, here are my issues.

Account login does not allow pasting of the password.

The September 48 page monthly statement from Hubert only shows Hubert investments and HISA. Accelerate do not show.

Online view shows, in some cases, 2 HISA accounts with different account numbers. There needs to be a clarification as to why and how do we deal with moving funds in/out?

Quarterly GIC % rate shown on statement and online is not the annual average. What is showing? Some how, on both on the statement and online it needs to show the quarterly % and interest payments made every quarter.

GIC interest payments don’t show in transactions.

Issue date of GIC does not show.

Online GIC information lacks in showing Joint Ownership or Successor information.

No more cheques, no more ATM’s cards. And the interac etransfer limits seem to be no where to be found!! But I don’t care as I am not a fan of interac etransfer. And no more push/pull. So do you really think that I am going to set up a HUB for you? Hubert to Oaken to BMO and BMO to Oaken to Hubert?? And not to mention the hold period that BMO adds to the process??? Now that is an inconvenience and is a deal breaker!!

Each and every customer should be informed of all bugs and fixes.

As an investor you need to know that you are not the only Fi that I deal with and this amalgamation has been a huge disruption for some of your customers as it was far from a clean conversion.

My promise to you is:
All my cash will be moved out from registered and non registered accounts.
All my upcoming maturing non registered GIC’s and TFSA GIC’s will be moved out.
If you, in the future, discontinue any of your good policies or the quarterly GIC’s I will phase out the rest of my investments.
If you, in the future, don’t improve the monthly statements I will phase out the rest of my investments.
If you, in the future, don’t improve the online view of all GIC’s on the monthly statements I will phase out the rest of my investments.
As a remote customer I need to be reassured my investments are there and that I can see a concise description of each and every one of them, at any time.

Some foot notes:

The New Hubert Digital Experience is here!
Not the experience that I am looking for !!!

We have completed our merger between Hubert Financial and AcceleRate Financial.
I don’t think so!!!

Hubert Financial is one of Manitoba’s happiest sites for online savings.
Not today and not for months will that be!!!

No cherries or whipped cream either!!!

I sent a letter to Greg Rutherford also, just got a reply that him and Tanya are working on issues. Like Friskyib , I like a detailed account of my GICs and RRIF ect, things arent showing. Plus my interest was missed on 4 accounts , after they sent the email that the interest is fixed! When i call they just keep saying working on it! Does anyone else have missing interest after they sent an email that all the interest is fixed? Im starting to think its just me

I want to point out that the people who answer the phone at Hubert are still an excellent group of people. I got a call back from them this morning and they sorted out all of the transfers I needed to make, in and out of other FIs.

My advice to Hubert customers is to call the Hubert number (1-855-448-2378) if you need to get anything done, rather than try to contact Access. They are busy, so rather than hold, just opt for a call back. For some items you can also try the Hubert chat system.

Hubert is still a main hub for my transfers between multiple FIs, simply because Hubert used to allow so many other FIs to be linked to them. I have not found another FI with their flexibility in this regard (I sure am never going to use any FI which insists I use FLinks!). But, I would like to handle these transfers by myself through the web site, as before, and I sure hope they reestablish this functionality very soon!

Are everyone’s Hubert September 2023 statements dated September 1 to September 22? Any transactions between September 22 and 30 are not shown. Also, I purchased two 1-year quarterly term deposits on September 21 (within the statement date) which are not included. I am glad to see that they are shown when I view my account online though.

If you are talking about a full month of interest.....?
I only had cash in Accelerate and my statement only showed Hubert only accounts.

I only found interest by looking at the HISA transactions. I think I am short if they used the same dates.
Aug = 31 days
Sep = 30 days
September interest was $2.90 less on $117 more on balance of August 31.

It’s up to Hubert to fix. I am not chasing $2.90. But just out of principle, if I am entitled, will cost them more in the long run. A few days ago I gutted my HISA.

1. Account login does not allow pasting of the password.

2. Quarterly GIC % rate shown on statement and online is not the annual average.

3. Issue date of GIC does not show.

4. Online GIC information lacks in showing Joint Ownership or Successor information.

5. And no more push/pull. So do you really think that I am going to set up a HUB for you?

6. My promise to you is:

1. Not true. I can copy/paste password to new log-in screen. Same as I can use password manager to do that for me.
2. I do not think Hubert ever shown average interest on 1y GIC. It was always quarterly.
3. It does show on-line. TFSA GIC 1y does not show Next pay date, while non-reg does. Mentioned to agent the other day...
4. Fully agree! That is a big minus if you have multiple joint GICs and have to track whose SIN will appear on T5.
5. Fully agree! That is a big failure. Every on-line bank I belong to has it. There is a way around but it takes time and is potential for human error as push/pull has to be set up manually.
6. Unfortunately, if you do not keep millions and millions at Hubert, they do not care. Blackmail never works for big companies who are richer than you and have thousand and thousand of customers.

Lets see if you get any reply or AI will come up with some generic BS and reply.
