I called today. Was 26th in line. I don’t think I have ever been more than second in line. So I took the *callback option. Was about 10 minutes. Kudos for the effort for sure!! I asked that now my Accelerate TFSA Variable was now under Hubert, was the no transfer out fee in affect.
Answer, yes.
I could feel that my question was disappointing. But it is what it is....some will leave. But for different reasons. Mine is.....I want to remove all TFSA from Manitoba so in the event of death it can be handled out of an office in Vancouver.
I think I spoke to Eric and he gave a good and concise answer. Same quality as would have been before the amalgamation.
*call back option is good, but others seem to not call back from the sequence** that you were in and some turn it off***. And some hang up after holding for 15 minutes****.
**Peoples Trust (they seem to call back late afternoon, and by that time you have given up and gone out to Starbucks)
***Telus

I was with Hubert only before. Now, under Access CU, I can't see any of my linked external account. Where can I find my linked external accounts?
It might have been a good idea to read the emails you received from Hubert starting about 6 weeks ago and this complete thread that began Aug 14.

Thanks. I read the email, but have no ideal why I can't find my linked external accounts now.
The new website does not support external links or self guided transfers. The links however are still available in the background, so you can call Hubert and ask them to make a transfer to a previously linked bank.
You can make new external links, but it's a different process now.

Thanks. Even I need to call Access CU to transfer fund to external accounts, I still need to know what external accounts I have linked. I guess I have to call Access CU to find out what external accounts I have linked. It's too bad that there is no section indicating linked external accounts. Tangerine has such feature.
I will try to make new links if it's not difficult to do.

Call Hubert at their old number, not Access. They're not open on the weekends.

One maybe able to reconstruct the list of linked external accounts by looking at older monthly Hubert account statements for transfers to/from those external accounts. Each such transfer will have the name of the financial institution and often the last few digits of the account number.
The account number digits won't be there for transfers involving external accounts at Simplii. The name for the financial institution "CANADIAN IMPERIAL BANK OF" crowds out the account number digits that would have been at the end of description text!
Hubert Financial is still there with a separate phone number. Just that it now a division of Access CU instead of a division of Sunova CU.

Tangerine and other FI's (including Hubert in the past) allow you to establish external links so that you can make DIY transfers. You won't be able to create external links until they enable external transfers.
So, use this as a learning moment. It may be a good idea to start documenting where your money is and how to move it around, if only in the event something happens to you and someone else needs to get involved.

Per https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/forum/hubert-financial/integration-weekend-sep-22-24-weve-been-warned/#p90638 I did a high risk $1 online transfer from Tangerine to and from Hubert/Access successfully. Obviously not a test of limits if there are any but the links I established long before the transition do work ...

E X A C T L Y well said. If you are the main banker in your house would it not be prudent to document to help your successor?

I have kept a log of transfers in separate PAPER notebook for years. I find it invaluable for ME, never mind a successor.
Paper record avoids login issues for successor to at least know what's going
on.
The newest LG computers use AI extensively - frightening from my point of view. It appears they are designed to only give access to one person, with biometrics etc. I don't know if this can be overridden, or, if so, whether override would persist through updates etc. I suppose this will be the way of the future - until someone figures out what a disaster it is..

If you want to be safer, buy a Chrome operating system laptop for your banking. ( Or install Linux or Chrome OS on an older laptop if you know how )

Windows computers are and have been designed to allow as many people as their administrators wish to access them.
What is new is that credential can now be the person's face via a camera, one of the person's fingers via a fingerprint reader, or a unique physical security key. The traditional name and password credential is still supported.
Each person is supposed to have individual credentials and not share one credential. It won't be easy to share a face credential as it would be to share a password credential.

They may be willing to continue to allow password access now, but that will be discontinued as soon as they can get away with it.
For medical reasons I don't want to get into, I am a poor candidate for reliable facial or retinal recognition. Fingerprints are for law enforcement only.
By the time most people understand the threat implied in these incursions, it will be too late to reverse them..

I feel the same way about social media. I don't have Facebook, Instagram etc. Right now Twitter only requires your email address to join, but Elon is trying to get all your info, by adding features that you will need to link your correct name, address, and credit card info to pay for. eg. you will be able to send payments, crypto etc through Twitter soon. If I have to give my name and address I'll just delete my Twitter account

There's no threat with one's own computer being able to recognize one's face or fingers.
Most people's computer already have high quality photos and videos of themselves and people they know. Telling the same computer to recognize a match with some of those photos as an authentication factor is not a risk.
They are not going to drop password authentication until one day people decide other methods are more convenient.
All that is just uninformed paranoia.

Are you saying that newly purchased laptop or desktop PC with (assuming) Windows 10/11 OS uses some kind of AI to identify you and grant access to your own computer????
Is this BIOS feature or OS feature? If it is OS feature, wipe out OS shipped with new computer and install OS from scratch. I am sure you can select how to log in to your own computer.
If it is BIOS feature, disable it if possible and if not pick any other more friendly computer.
I do not use finger, retina, voice, face or any other way to log in to MY computer.
