Kudos to Hubert!

This is the second TFSA transfer I've made to Hubert and on both occasions, I received a personal email from one of the Hubert staff to notify me the moment my funds had arrived.

Not all FI's I've dealt took the initiative to advise of the arrival of funds, and required periodic follow up calls.

Another reason it's pleasant doing business with Hubert...sf-smile

A few years back, i moved my savings, tfsa and rrsp (now a rif) from Tangerine/ING to Outlook. All went smoothly. Yes, a closing fee had to be paid to (no fees) Tangerine, i'm thinking it was something like $65 for the tfsa and rrsp, so $130 total? It was in that ballpark.

There are only a few FI's I am aware of that do not charge an exit fee. They are:

    Hubert Financial
    Peoples Trust
    Achieva Financial

Perhaps other Forum members are aware of others.

Some FI's will reimburse the transfer out fee for incoming deposits, but Hubert will not, since they don't charge and exit fee.

I don't know the reimbursement policy for peoples or Achieva.

Some GIC / deposit brokers (as mine does) waive transfer out fees for clients who move money from one of their partner FI's to another of their partner FI's.
