As of January 3, our Help HQ team will be online on Sundays, meaning we’re here for you seven days a week.
Our new hours will be:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm CST
Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm CST
We can’t wait to continue to provide exceptional service and hope this change offers convenience for all. Thanks for sticking with us."
So service seems to be going up a notch, while their HISA rates crash. I'll leave a few dollars with them for now, as Hubert is one of my main transfer hubs, but my money is going to wherever better rates are to be found (which right now are the 2% promos at Simplii and Tangerine, till the end of March)

The reason they are doing this is because Sunova their parent company was open in branch Sundays from Noon to Four and as of December 27 they are no longer opening branches on Sundays so they are opening the call centre instead, and since Sunova HQ and Hubert HQ are run by the same phone representatives, they just answer depending on which number you call.

Hubert is great. Chat and phone support with little or no waiting. People that know what they're doing.
I rarely need to talk to them but 7 days a week support is unusual in the banking business.
I can remember banks closing at 3pm except on Friday. Saturday and Sunday, not a chance.
Cibc was the first to open Fridays in my neck of the woods. Whoops! Sorry for rambling.

Whatever the reason, it's a good move, and it sounds like it won't cost them any more overall if Sunova branch closes. I believe Hubert is in the same building as the main Sunova branch, or adjacent.
I haven't heard of any of the other MB CUs being accessible by phone on weekends.
