I wonder how long before all the bank and credit union rates are lower than the BoC rate? sf-laugh

All GIC rates also dropped. It appears that Hubert is no longer providing advance notice to clients of rate changes.

The same rate changes were made at merger partners AcceleRate Financial.

What GR said ...

Unfortunately, it's been that way for quite a few months now (no advanced notices).

It's but one of the many effects of being under new owners/management.

Sadly, the 'Old' Hubert is Long-Gone. sf-confused

Curiosity only. Why has Access not consolidated these entities?

We’re Merging July 1, 2023 : Here’s What You Need to Know

Sunova Credit Union, Noventis Credit Union, and Access Credit Union officially merge on July 1 to become the new Access Credit Union.

Things won’t change overnight. As we work towards banking system integrations, Hubert Financial members can expect business as usual for the time being.

From what I understand, merging AcceleRate into Hubert is part of their 2023 game plan.

I'm guessing it'll happen sometime this fall.

I have been using their 1 year quarterly term GIC for the last 12 months or maybe longer, and have been happy. Always could have done better of course, but I am at or close to mid/high 4's to 5% on all of them (annual) at the moment.

I wasn't sure if I would need the money before a year, so that's why I went that way.

What Rpotter28 said ⬆ (Post #13).

You'll get no argument here on that. Hubert's 1yr, quarterly payable, variable rate GIC is still it's 'Crown Jewel'.

Fingers crossed, the new owners don't 'Fix' that too. sf-confused

The Hubert one-year cashable term deposit looks like a keeper for now.

In contrast, the Hubert Cash Back MasterCard is now gone from the Hubert web site. The Hubert US$ savings account doesn't look like it has a bright future with its interest rate left at ¼%.
