I am going to transfer my matured RRSP GIC to another FI. On the transfer request form of the other FI, should I use the name and address of Hubert Financial or Access Credit Union? Thanks.

.
I would imagine that if you want to transfer your RRSP $$$ to Access CU, you would use the Access CU name. And if you want the transfer to go to Hubert Financial, you would use the Hubert Financial name ... No?

For confirmation, you can contact Access or Hubert directly by phone.

I think he is transferring from Hubert. I would use the Access CU name, as that is what showed up on my last T5, so that seems to be how they are reporting us to the government. Hubert is just a name for a few legacy products now, and memories of GIC bliss sf-cry

I would use the financial institution name and address on the RRSP statements that the maturing GIC appears on.

Otherwise, one is just begging for a screw up like the one reported when TD Canada Trust was specified in error instead of TD Investment Services for a RRIF being transferred.

If I was confused about how to do a transaction with a financial institution, I would talk to that institution vs taking advice from strangers on the internet sf-surprised

Thanks, everyone. Yes, I want to transfer RRSP out of the former Hubert, now Access. The confusing part is that Hubert is still operating. The reminder email was sent to me from Hubert, "Hubert Happy Savings " and contact info given is still Hubert "We can be reached at 1.855.4HUBERT (1.855.448.2378) or email us at hubert@happysavings.ca.".

Hubert Financial is still there. It is now a division of Access CU instead of a division of Sunova CU.

I would probably list it as (a) "Hubert Financial, a [branch|division] of Access Credit Union Limited" or (b) "Access Credit Union" and "Hubert Financial" as the branch name. 🙂

Cheers,
Doug

True, although, in fairness, that's a much more significant difference since they're two different legal entities, both of which have RRSPs and RRIFs, so I can see that being rightly rejected or sent back to the customer for amendment.
