I'm making a list of things that could be improved with Hubert's online banking:
http://www.northernraven.ca/fi.....Notes.html
If anyone has others they'd like me to include, just mention them here. I'm going to send along the list to Hubert when I get a chance.
The major ones (in bold) are the ridiculous "enter all the account information" interface for transfers out, and the lack of any indication of where transfers in came from when you "pull" from Hubert (if you "push" from another account like Ally it does display the source). The rest are annoyances or best-practice types of things I wish they'd copied from ING, Ally and others.

Hello NorthernRaven,
I would like to see randomized strings for account numbers and passes.. At least increasing security measures related to login etc would be nice.. I'm always paranoid but I really wonder if Hubert has been using sequential account numbers..
I like the other recommendations so far..

-RSPs - offer RSPs, as they currently have none
-transaction history - more transactions laid out per page would be ideal
-drop down boxes - eliminate many of these drop down boxes and have all options laid out without having to access the drop down menu
-"online session confirmations" - option to turn this off, as they send e-mails evertime you access your Hubert account or engage in online chat with Hubert
-synching of accounts - better synching with external linked accounts (ie: funds have shown transferred to Hubert 2 days ago, but ING still shows the same funds present that were withdrawn (TFSA with no locked in term)
These are some of the points that I can think to add at this point.

I would be very concerned to use a site like Mint.com, would be very uncomfortable to have my account numbers and password in one place on a server. What would happen if a hacker got at the info?
Just trying it out.. I don't have every single account loaded in.. It's missing Hubert for example..

I bought a GIC online there today. Somewhat confusing. Here's the steps I took:
Add new account
Selected a term account
Created the account - no money in it yet
Up next came a money transfer screen, but it only allowed transfering money from my external account. I wanted to fund the term deposit from my Hubert savings account.
I hit cancel to that.
So now I have a term deposit account with nothing in it. Bizarre.
I then go to the "my accounts" link near the bottom on the left. This lets me transfer money from my savings account to the term deposit, just as if it was another regular account. Hmmmm. It looks like I could transfer more money into it if I wanted to. Is there some kind of time limit on that? Could I transfer more money into it tomorrow, or next month, or next year? Weird. No info on compounding, or what happens to it at maturity. Opportunity for improvement for sure.

I've updated my Hubert improvement list - they seem to have retroactively fixed the bad display of transfer-in sources awhile back, and they've just fixed (finally!) the transfer-out so you no longer have to enter all the account information manually. You still can as an option (from a popup, am I an oracle or what), which, if it really allows to you transfer to any arbitrary account in Canada, is a unique feature as far as I know.
