Well this is the year I finally say goodbye to Hubert/Access

I don't think any part of Hubert, as we remember it, is ever coming back. It also looks like Access has no intention of developing it's online strategy to bring it up to date, so I have made my decision to close out all Hubert/Access accounts.

I seriously have accounts at almost all institutions but I am trying to streamline a bit and it makes my blood pressure rise every time I log into access and I'm forced to do so to keep the account alive.

So goodbye old friend, I know you moved to another neighborhood and it's time to face the fact that we will never be chummy like we were in the past. I choose to remember all the good times we had but you have not been the same friend since you started hanging around with those other guys.

I will have fond memories and will store you with the other good friends of the past, like Ally, but the time has come for me to focus on what is best for me and move on.

Too bad, I really wanted to do business in Manitoba but this is good bye.

Yup add me to the list too.
Won’t be for a while though.
Currently all funds are one way…..out.

I had planned, for better estate handling, to remove all funds from Manitoba any ways. The new Hubert has the T5 screw ups and so many take aways….I have no loyalty what so ever for them. Not even a HISA only. And even that…..the rates for HISA have gone downhill and aren’t competitive.

I don’t see Hubert surviving.

I joined right before the merger for the 1-year quarterly GIC. I ended up redeeming before the term was up. I can't log in anymore, so I think they closed my account automatically.

Most likely your account (if you had HISA) is inactive . If you had ONLY GIC then they most likely deleted you.
Nevertheless I would suggest to call them and confirm do they have ANY info about you in the system.
When I closed all accounts at Peoples Trust even though I cannot log in anymore they told me they have to keep ALL my data for 6-7 years 'as per law'.

They don't tell you anywhere, but they disable your account if you don't login for 3 months.

I have $9.39 left in my account and when I try to e-transfer it out I get an error for days now saying to call in.

My account is open and valid, I log in every 30 days, my contact details are intact.

Seriously, I'm so done with Access it's not even funny.

That said, they are not going to keep my money, I will make the dreaded last call to free them up.

I also will say final goodbye to Hubert/Access, but only next year, because I will take out part of remaining RRSP this year and will do final withdrawal next year.

From another FI, can you pull it out of Hubert?

.
I'm still holding out Hope that Hubert will get its own new, fully-functional, standalone website (as promised by the Hubert CSRs) sometime(?) this year.

But the Rush to the Hubert Exit-Door seems to be building. In the end, if a new fully-functional Hubert website doesn't come to fruition this year, I'll be walking through that door as well ... as will many others, I'm sure. sf-confused

Back in 2022, I locked in some RRSP assets at 5.1% for 5 years. So I'm sticking with Hubert through 2027, at least. In the meantime, I've bought a couple of term GICs and some one year GICs. Nothing to push the commitment beyond 2027. By then, it should be clear whether they will be improving their online banking capacity.

Currently with Hubert I have 5 GIC's. 3 maturing in 2026 and 2 in 2027; with the last one maturing in Aug 2027. Also have $33.00 in savings account. Next week I'll
use my linked account with Tangerine and transfer $5.00 from Hubert into Tangerine savings. Just to ensure that method is still functioning.

Links should work as long as your account number at Hubert has not changed.

Keep in mind if you were also an Accelerate customer you likely have 2 HISA accounts and is possible you will have Accelerate GICs. I assume a maturing Accelerate GIC would mature into the Accelerate HISA.

Hubert has been quick to offer to cancel my Accelerate HISA…..which I have declined. I don’t want a hiccup and will keep all HISAs till the end. I was able to transfer money between the 2 HISA accounts while being signed on the Hubert system.

Ha ha….so I just reminded myself to add money to both HISA accounts. sf-smile

Two weeks ago, I had a maturing GIC at Hubert and I pulled out some of the proceeds to fund GICs at Home Bank and Home Trust, through Oaken. Both debits worked fine.

I know we have all been through this confusing stuff before with Hubert. I don't honestly remember all of it. I do know transfers them all seems to work out okay.
I only ever had a Hubert savings account and GIC's. Right now when I go into Hubert and then login, the login goes to Access and there it shows my account with Hubert.
To transfer funds from Hubert/Access I do so from my linked account with Tangerine under "Accelerate Financial". I just transferred $5.00 from Accelerate to my Tangerine Savings. It appears it went through okay. When a GIC matures the funds go into my Hubert Savings. If I want the funds I either phone them to transfer into my CIBC chequing account or I use the linked account with Tangerine.
T5's are sent from Access.
If I wish to purchase a GIC with Hubert such as the quarterly ones, I phone "Hubert" Financial and they transfer the funds directly from CIBC into the GIC.

Most of you probably already know these procedures and more but this is what I stick to.

It does work. I've been doing it (pushing & pulling) via TNG & OAK about quarterly, as recently as mid Feb.

@Cad
@cgouimet
@railbaron

I may have not well built my sentence to @KamWest. I was not asking if you can push or pull from another FI to/from Hubert. I was only suggesting that @KamWest pull money out of Hubert as the e-transfer option was not working.

I have used e-transfer at Hubert if it’s quick and easy. And less hassle pulling to a HUB account and a second step to push elsewhere and watching if the funds are on hold, slowing up the process. The thing I can’t find on Hubert e-transfers is….max per day, max per week, max per month etc.

Well it looks like my Pull from Saven has managed to take my last $9.39 from my Hubert/Access account. I have no idea why Access would not allow me to e-transfer out, just another reason I can't take this union/merger any more.

Let me tell you all the stuff that does not work me...

1. I cannot e-transfer out
2. Logins are sporadic, half the time I cannot get in
3. I cannot see any linked accounts
4. All I can do online is transfer to another access member, nothing else works.
5. I have a forever 9 notifications online, when I click on them they say I have none but 9 still show
6. Website is slow as molasses

I'm getting tired now, all that remains is to close this crap down. I will probably not look at access again, I cannot believe how they butchered Hubert. Seriously it's a sin and we are far worse of with the merger. Sun Nova I miss you too...

Sigh
