I just downloaded my September bank statement and I guess I was being optimistic that maybe the "format" of the same would have changed. I get so darn frustrated with their statements!!
Just why can't they group like items together:
1. Savings Account and then any GICS
2. Tax free savings account and then any GICS held in Tax Free
3. RSP savings and then any GICS held in RSP
Just how does "HRS12Q #11" on my statement - tell me that is a spousal RSP GIC?
How does HRS12Q #14 - tell me that is a sole RSP GIC? I see the contract # is different thats it.
Why can't the statements follow the same format as when viewing "account information"
Sorry, just blowing off steam!!
Plus the issue of "joint GICS" only showing on one members statement!!

Good points. I only have RRSP in my name. Your case of how your investments on Hubert statements reflects is horrible.
I dislike their format too especially if you print double sided.
Three of their weakest points.
1. Statements and no alert to say are ready
2. No ability to set up maturity instructions
3. No summary of final GIC input.
No doubt I will have to move my RRIF and RRSP all out just because they do not offer a RRIF 1 year GIC.
And as mentioned refer to my other post about the recent Feedback request by Hubert. It may give you more ideas and an opportunity to add your very valid issues.
When I think of it, Oaken is pretty much perfect other than no savings accounts for registered accounts.

Blowing off a little steam here on these forums doesn't hurt (I've done it a couple times, myself ). But I'm convinced that Nothing is going to change/improve at Hubert, until we 'All' start lodging our complaints Directly with Hubert (or better yet, Sunova) . . . And Often❗
It works like this ⬇

I agree; the statements are terrible. It's as if they are for "Internal Use Only". My only salvation with them is that the GICs are numbered and they don't use the same number twice. So , for example, if #15 is a five year TFSA GIC maturing in 2023, then #15 will still refer to the same thing in 2022, regardless of the other gibberish. After it matures, they will retire that number in your statements.
If you have the time and energy, one way to surely make your point would be to phone them and ask them to go through it with you over the pone, line by line, explaining everything, pausing to make sure you've got it right and giving time to make notes - every month. If enough people do this, and often enough, they will definitely get the message because it will be causing discomfort at their end. Right now, nothing we say really matters because it can be safely ignored.
You could also try writing letters of complaint to every solitary board member. That too requires action from a significant number of people.
You could always withdraw your money in protest, of course - but that might inconvenience yourself too much and might not have enough punch.

What was their response, when you lodged your concerns ⬆ with them (Hubert Financial / Sunova CU) ❓
Please don't hold back ... please let us know how it went.

Email from Hubert Jan 2, 2020:
Annual registered contract statements notice
Annual registered contract statements are moving onlineAnnual statements for registered contracts (TFSAs, RSPs, RIFs) are moving online and will no longer be mailed to you. The annual statements will be ready later in January on Hubert GO Web. We’ll let you know when they are available.
This change only affects your annual statements. You’ll still receive your registered plan tax slips (for RSP contributions, etc.) in the mail.
