So, I transferred the funds into HISA via my HSBC chequing account. And the bonus interest was indeed paid today. We knew it but always nice to see it happen after all the confusion.

At least the advantage accounts include free cheques.

Which bank are you referring to here? How do you get the free cheques?

When you said "advantage" account I thought you were referring to Manulife Bank.

My bad guys, I just remembered it as ‘Hsbc advantage’ account when the correct name should be ‘Hsbc advance’ account’.

I opened one last year when they have the new acct promo. Now open a HISA for 1.75% but no easy to transfer funds out except via Cheques.

You can go to “move money” and “pay bill” and push the money out. Or you can link HSBC from another account and pull.

Question for the members who have funds on deposit in the HISA with HSBC.

Question: Are you getting interest credit?

Why are you not getting the full 1.75%? Isn't it automatic?

Don't have any money it this promo but on the previous HSBC promos, the bonus interest were always credited to my account a day or 2 after the regular interest.

You can always push to or pull from any Big 5 after you set up a link. These online banks could not operate if they could not.

I meant only online banks like Tangerine etc can have a push / pull link from Big5.

I think HSBC Canada does not allow external links with big5 as they have real retail branches here. Am I wrong ?

I think you can pull but not push funds from a Big 5 (definitely the case with CIBC and I am assuming for the other 4 as well).

Got the promo amount today. Seems like they don't pay out on weekends.

I think people mean pull money out from RBC, not pulling into RBC.
