Can you remember me all the ATBs available for HSBC with the local banks they share?

-The Exchange (withdrawal only)
-National Bank (withdrawal only)
-BMO (at which you can deposit money/checks and withdraw)

Anything else I've missed?

hey Max,

Your information is a bit outdated/incorrect. As an HSBC customer, you actually get much more than surcharge-free withdrawals at The EXCHANGE network ABMs. You can get balance enquiries, make deposits (without any holds on funds too if your bank card is a class code "03" or higher) and make surcharge-free withdrawals, all of which you can do at HSBC and BMO ABMs.

Currently, members of The EXCHANGE network include:
* Canadian Tire Bank
* Canadian Western Bank
* Central 1 Credit Union (B.C. and Ontario credit unions)
* Concentra cooperative of credit unions in Saskatchewan
* HSBC Bank Canada
* ICICI Bank Canada
* Manulife Bank
* National Bank of Canada

I believe that's about it. If there's any I missed, do let me know. 🙂

So, with some provincial exceptions where HSBC and BMO's presence isn't as strong and The Exchange network is weak (Alberta, Manitoba, and Territories), you get the largest ABM network in Canada by being with HSBC.

Cheers,
Doug

Just as the previous poster said. You can Depost/Withdraw from any HSBC/BMO and any ATM connected to the Exchange network.

bunny,

When you make a deposit at the ABM, if your bankcard is less than an "03", it will tell you at the end of the transaction that a six business day hold has been placed on the deposit before funds become available. You should also be able to go into your branch and enquire as to your bankcard's limits and status.

If you've been with the bank for at least six months and have a fairly good credit history, you can apply to have your bankcard limit increased. They'll examine your account for things like regular payroll direct deposits, pre-authorized bill payments and also do a quick credit bureau and utilizing that research be able to tell you if they can increase your limit/status.

Cheers,
Doug

don't forget that one of the best built-in features of ATB 100% guarante's your deposit for the whole amount unlike CIDC insurance banks which max out at $100k.

In this case, Mike, Max was referring to ATB as an ABM or ATM and not Alberta Treasury Branches. I thought the same thing as you at first till I re-read his initial post. He's asking about HSBC's ABM network reach in Canada.

Cheers,
Doug
