Just seen: 1 year cashable GIC 2%, minimum $5,000. No penalty for cashing early. Apparently this rate has been offered for a while.
CAUTION: when I used Safari to check out the offer, I was warned that the page I was on could be fraudulent. I ended up phoning the CU for information and also reported what had happened to me.

Thanks, JenE. Certificate appears valid in Chromium-based web browsers, so not sure what the issue is. Sounds like an issue with the Safari web browser.

As for Niverville, yes, they come highly recommended. I have been trying to get Peter to create a profile page and FI forum, and to adding them to the GIC Chart as they meet all our criteria in spades (and have for some time now), as have Fusion Credit Union and Noventis Credit Union in terms of GICs. Likewise, Access, Steinbach, and Rosenort all meet the criteria for GICs, just not for HISAs, but there's nothing saying we can't have FIs in the GIC Chart and not the HISA Chart (i.e., Tangerine and Simplii, to name a couple). See: https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/forum/site-suggestions/add-niverville-credit-union-to-the-gic-comparison-chart/

Cheers,
Doug

I can confirm the certificate is valid in Google Chrome and all Chromium-based web browsers (tested on Vivaldi). Could be an issue with the way Firefox and Safari are handling certificates. Interestingly, I tested it on "niverville.mb.ca" and "www.niverville.mb.ca," but if you're concerned, just visit "niverville.mb.ca" in those web browsers until it is fixed. Pretty minor issue, really.

Cheers,
Doug
