To all,

Home equity has 5 yr GIC at 3.35%. Not shown on this site. It is worth looking into. Also can be purchased from RBC direct investing at par.

HomeEquity Bank GIC's are not available to depositors from the issuer. Depositors need to go through an investment dealer or deposit broker.

How safe are they beyond the $100,000 CDIC.

After living through Home Trust and Pace CU, I am understandably cautious.

not worth the risk.

With BoC expected to go multiple clips of 50bps next few meetings, 5y will need to go a bit higher in my mind.

No DBRS debt rating for HomeEquity Bank. Unrated.

Unknown risk for uninsured deposits over $100,000 CDIC limit.

Sounds like a good option for under 100K. May be an option moving forward based on the proper ladder strategy
