The 2% rate, if available, likely has a very high minimum, probably 250K. They have done this in the past at least. The problem then is that your interest, accumulating, at about $400/month, is not guaranteed by deposit insurance if non-registered.
Their one year rate as posted online is 1.30%.

They sent out advertising indicating rates of: 1.80% for 1 year
1.90% for 3 years
2.10% for 5 years
The above rates are TFSA and RRSP rates.
CANNEX shows rates of 1.6%, 1.7%, 1.8%, 1.9% and 2.1% for 1-5 years with $5,000.00 minimums.
Best you call them and ask.

Be careful of transfer out fee for registered accounts. I think it's $100 currently.
I never got the email and I do belong to this CU. It's strange that none of these deals appears on their website, or, if they do, they are hard for me to find. Neither can I find them on their facebook ot twitter pages.
Do you remember when you got this email?

I got this info originally from CANNEX
https://www.cannex.com/public/term02e.html and in regular snail mail advertising last week. I have since spoken to them in person about some of their rates. Their website doen't show them. I personally am not interested in the registered rates, just the regular ones.
