Can I ask when you guys submitted your taxes this year? I ask because spouse is awaiting a similar boost and I'd like to know if it is likely to come this year. We submitted in June and paid the CPP contribution for 2019 in June via the taxes (for self-employed).

I am self-employed and filed my taxes on March 10. I received the Post Retirement Benefit boost and retroactive amount with my May CPP payment.

Checked last year as well. Took about 10 weeks after she filed in June for the CPP adjustment to come thru.

Depends a lot on filing method. If you submit on paper takes up to 6-8 weeks. Then they start running programs to determine benefits. Each benefit program takes a couple days. Add total time and you may wait up to 10 weeks. I prefer electronic submission. If you file by April 30th it will still be around July 5th to determine CPP payment. That is almost 9.5 weeks.

Have a Great Day

Filing method is not an issue for us.

Spouse phoned CPP today and was told to expect it to take at least a year. They confirmed that they have the information on file.

It's a good thing it's only a relatively small amount. Wouldn't want to be waiting for it anxiously.

I imagine this is due to staff shortages and related covid issues.

But a word to the wise.
If you are planning to receive OAS or CPP in the next year, don't delay; apply NOW or as soon as you are elibible to do so.
