I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this as it launched in late 2017, but TD Ameritrade, which is approximately 45% owned by TSX-listed TD Bank Financial Group, has entered the streaming television news business with an over-the-top (OTT) business news and investing television channel called TD Ameritrade Network. Operated by TD Ameritrade Media Productions Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TD Ameritrade, it offers continuous live business news and investing programming Monday through Friday from 6 am to 4 pm Central (4 am to 2 pm Pacific; 7 am to 5 pm Eastern). On weekends, it offers a weekly business news program as well as rebroadcasts from weekday programs.
It's actually pretty good. I even had some of my questions vis-a-vis the practical trading aspects of put writing answered. Very nice alternative to Cheddar Business and Cheddar Headline News, which are definitely targeted towards millennials. Combined with Bloomberg Television, it really does put BNN Bloomberg to shame and render it basically useless.
Cheers,
Doug
