RESP Rates Meridian | General financial discussion | Discussion forum

Hello, I have posted a discussion regarding RESP couple years ago. I still have the initial RESP with KFF (which I admit I was an idiot to open with them) and I haven't contributed since then.

Anyhow, looking for best places without getting ripped off, I think so far Meridian is having the best rates (Unless there are some other hidden banks offering better rates). Meridian posted rate for RESP is 2.5%. I have no idea about their historical RESP rates (I noticed it just today) hence contacted the Ottawa branch manager for clarification to confirm. (Can't even find a way to open it online)

If I can't get at least 2.5%, I'd just use Questrade and buy the Vanguard Growth ETF Portfolio (VGRO) with %0.22 management fees and pays 1.7% dividends as of today. Questrade charges $50 / year for an RESP account.

Any constructive feedback is highly appreciated as always 🙂
