I can see two Simplii/CIBC T5 details on CRA My Account (one for HISA, other for a GIC) but nothing yet in my mailbox as of yesterday.

Hope this helps

[ PS ] - there were ealier sightings by others according to entry #28 https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/forum/simplii-financial/t5-slips-for-simplii-financial-online-or-by-mail/page-2/#p37577 ...possibly in several waves ?

I believe they only have to mail them by Feb 28th. Could take 3-5 more days to show up snail mail.

This is strange: I don't have mine from Simplii/CIBC yet. I should: more than $50 interest collected last year.

Last year I've got T5 from Simplii on March 6. I wonder, do they not submit them all at once?

My understanding is that fi's have to send T5 info to CRA by end of February. It's done electronically, so should be there as far as I can tell. I just noticed on my CRA My Account that nothing shows for me from Home Bank or Alterna, even though I received slips in the mail from each some time ago. Can anyone illuminate me?

Maybe not illuminate, but I can add to the mystery -- I have all 3 problems:
(a) T5 slips I got in the mail that haven't been posted to CRA yet;
(b) T5 info that shows up on CRA site but I don't have the paper T5 yet;
(c) accounts where I have no T5 slip yet AND the info isn't on CRA yet either.

Situation (a) and (b) I can live with, but situation (c) is starting to concern me since it's now mid-March. I have no way of knowing whether it's CRA that's being slow posting the updates to MyAccount or whether certain FIs sent their info in late. I know I could file using my own records, but it's not my preference, so I'm going to wait a bit longer

Londonguy, re (b), I had the same with EQ, but that's because they don't send paper slips, you have to sign in and get them there. Achieva too, in my case, though maybe that's because I've chosen their paperless option, I'm not sure.

Given that you've got discrepancies too I'll assume CRA is just backlogged, probably show up sometime on My Account in the next few weeks.

(c) CALL, txt, email FI which did not send you T5s
Do not rely on CRA to have them on time. They could receive them anytime during the year and will ding you with interest and penalty if you do not report on time.

I missed one of T4PS for 2018 (nobody ever told I will or should receive one) and CRA did reassessment few days ago and now I own them+interest. Reassessment date is March 19, 2020 (they do have time traveling machine) and I guess I will get an email asking me to pay, pay, pay...

pooreva, CRA has relief provisions re interest and penalty if it's due to extraordinary (or other) circumstances. I'm not sure of your situation (did your employer never send you a T4PS?) and you indicate you had no idea you had an additional amount to report (was this the first time your employer issued this kind of income to you?), maybe you qualify. From what I can see you may not qualify but I don't know all your details and CRA site does indicate ".....there may be exceptional situations, where it may be appropriate to provide relief to taxpayers because of third-party errors or delays", so maybe it's worth a try if the interest or penalties are significant. Just have to file RC4288 form, maybe they're feeling nice these days because of this virus.

I wish the answer was that simple. I'm 100% paperless wherever I have the choice, and I know you can download T5s from a few FIs (and I have), but my missing paper ones are from FIs that don't offer that service

Thank you Bill for advice. I will definitely try to talk to CRA. Penalty if around $30 but still $30 is $30.
I was buying shares though company I worked for as part of employee share purchase plan. There were no T4PS in 2014-2017. Suddenly they appear in 2018 and 2019 without any notice. You actually Have to log in to web site and see what tax documents are available. Well, I missed that in 2018 as I was looking for RRSP slips only.
Funny thing is, my banker admitted he missed it too and was similarly penalized after re-assessment...
