Are you experiencing the same reality as I am with Morningstar Canada?
No data
Impossible to find your ticker
Input data is incorrect
Page does not load
Improper search result in search tool
Subpar service (they do not correct their mistakes)
I was even told (about a mistake) that they would only correct it there are enough complaints about it.
Morningstar Canada is a mess, you can’t trust their results and they have omissions (it tough to find a product that they forgot to list…)
Anyone with the same experience?

Yes, definitely. I just opened an account with TD Direct Investing after my financial advisor hit me with a $200 stock trade fee.
I’ve always used advisors prior to this.
I placed my last 2 years of TFSA into this TD account and also opened a small cash account. It is fun.
Although you can research on the TD platform, I still like to use Morningstar and it has been very bad, as of late.

Mine seems to work OK at present.
I had a problem a few months ago where it was impossible to add anything because the bottom area of my stock listing was blocked by an ad that wouldn't move. And in the process of bugging them to fix it, I ran into the same response - the Americans don't tend to this site very often. Also the site design often requires finding and moving a cursor bar to go lower on the page where adding happens (if that makes sense).
If you could give me some stock ticker symbol and which exchange its on, I'll see if I can add it.
Also, if you can delete all cookies relating to Morningstar, restart the browser (and maybe the computer too after using CCleaner, not sure if that's necessary but a good idea anytime), then go back and login to your Morningstar account, see if that fixes it?

I'm a Big Fan of CCleaner .... I've been using it for years.

I also have CCleaner and use it all the time. Errors galore on Morningstar Canada, using both Chrome & Firefox. I'll provide but a few examples:
Load AGF Global Convertible Bond Ser F (AGF5031) and go to the price page, you get: «THERE IS NO DATA FOR THIS COMPONENT»
Try to load page Genworth MI Canada Inc Ordinary Shares (MIC), only half of the page loads
Try to find the following: Dividend 15 Split Corp. (DFN.TO) GOOD LUCK
I could go on and on and on and on of mistakes, errors, omissions. Seriously, I can't trust Morningstar Canada. If I have to look up a stock or ETF, it's better to consult Morningstar.com the US site.

I'm using Firefox.
I searched AGF Global Convertible Bond Ser F by typing "AGF Global Convertible Bond" and 3 options appeared, including F. All data showed up when F was picked. I also use Yahoo Finance (suggest that one, I like it better, faster loading, easier to use ONCE you get used to its 'system'), but Yahoo couldn't find the F series, it found 3 also, but they were MF, Q and V, if I recall.
Genworth MI Canada was no problem either. I just searched in Morningstar by that company name and all data appeared in its own page. From there I was able to add it to my portfolio as well. Morningstar does seem to have a problem with partial name searches as it will bring up all kinds of other exchanges' results.
Dividend 15 Split with that ticker WAS impossible to find, where Yahoo finance found it no problem.
Obviously I don't know what to suggest as there are so many computer variables. I strongly recommend cloning your portfolio in Yahoo Finance (also free).
Do you have an ad blocker active?

Hey dougjp, did you go under the «price» tab for AGF5031, because that's where my problem lies. As for Genworth MI Canada Inc Ordinary Shares (MIC), I only get a half page load, but that's weird, because most pages load.
I tried clearing cache and everything using CCleaner and I deactivated all extensions. I have the latest Chrome & Firefox with Win7.

I'm using Win10, but I can't see that making a difference?
I never input or search Morningstar by ticker, if that's what you are doing, only by name as described. So I don't know what the ticker is. The Price tab seems to bring up everything, eg; heading ' AGF Global Convertible Bond Ser F ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ', ' NAV / 1-Day Return
16.83 / 1.08%
Fund Size
313.4 Mil
TTM Yield
0.04%
MER
1.17%
etc. So I think I'm seeing everything.
The only idea I have left is this.
I'm assuming you have an account with Morningstar Canada, free is fine, and you show as logged in after seeing a separate ad page. After going to a site that isn't any Morningstar site, in Firefox go to Tools, Options, Privacy & Security, Cookies, Manage Data. Type in Morningstar. Delete each and every cookie with that name.
Exit. Use CCleaner, restart computer, load Firefox, disable any ad blockers, go to;
https://www.morningstar.ca enter sign in info.
If it was me, Plan B would be to set up a Yahoo Finance portfolio. I only have both because problems with one or the other (can't remember) got me to set up a backup/alternate 2nd place.
