Compared to GIC at 3.5% rate, which one is better?

Marketbeat recommended:
GLD ( SPDR Gold Shares), 100% gold, get correlation to the price of actual phydical bullion, investors to get exposure to the price of gold without actually talking on some of the issue that are involved with physical custody of the metal , exposure into the precious metal sector, for gold in particular.

Silver is better than gold.

You could be very late to the party. GLD (tracking physical gold prices less fund expenses) has surged since early 2024... about 50% higher. Why would you want to potentially 'buy high'? Do you think it has more room to run as compared to falling back at some unknown future time?

P.S. I suspect GLD has zero (income) yield. It is purely a commodity play (cap gains/losses).

Thank, all you said are correct, GLD price is peak.
I have no idea about GLD. Currently interest rate is about 3%, I am looking for a better investment.

News told me tariffs will cause canadian dollar weak, tarrif may make the gold price up but nobody knows what will happen in the future.

I think I should invest my money on GICs, do not invest on something you do not understand.

Right. Stick to what does NOT keep you awake when you should be sleeping.
