The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada is a government entity which provides information on consumer rights in regards to the banking industry.
I learned, here, for instance, that banks must give 30 days notice of fee changes to statement users and 60 days on websites and ATMs. Personally, I think that should be extended to cover the duration of any fixed term investments, as one is locked into them, but it's a start.
