I always use TurboTax for 3 returns for 28.00.......$10 each. I have used it ever since H&R Block screwed up my return so badly!!!!

Hm, I just tried StudioTax (free version). I like that it shows you the forms, but the wizard was limited, and didn't even have employment expenses. I mean if I knew the form number, I wouldn't be using tax software, right? I've used GenuTax (also totally free now) for years now, and it is only wizard-based (though you can just print your return to see the forms), but it seems pretty thorough. It has "quick" and "detailed" wizards, which is nice. It didn't help with pension splitting last year though. So you kind of get what you pay for, in my experience. I mean you can always download the free ones and do your taxes in several apps to see how it works for you (I do this every year just to verify my results... I know, I'm a fun guy).
I find the best-and-cheapest approach is to use one of the "professional" online website-based ones to prepare your return (which are generally free to use right up until you file the return), and then just copy/paste the results into the free-to-file software. I've recently started using the H&R Block online one, and it seems pretty slick, it did all the pension splitting wizardry and stuff for my parents' much more complex returns. I used to use QuickTax (TurboTax), it was similar. Seems kinda wrong to do this, but hey, they let you use them for free, so that's their marketing problem. 
See the NETFILE and EFILE links above for all the certified software/websites each year.
Also watch for rebates. E.g. this year RBC customers got a discount on H&R software/website.

I liked TaxWiz, until Intuit bought it and renamed it QuickTax/TurboTax Basic and eliminated the ability to claim RRSP/medical deductions, as it had the best interface and was only $19.99.
I've since moved to the boxed software version of Ufile for $19.99 and it allows full access to all deductions with 8+2 bonus returns. Printing a return and NETFILE-ing a return only count as one return; it's per SIN basically. Have used it for 5-6 years now and, this year, purchased it online from Ufile.ca as the local Future Shop here closed at the end of January after only 16 months in operation. 
StudioTax is to be commended for its free product and I encourage everyone to donate.

Every since H&R Block screwed up my Income Tax return two times for the same tax year I have used purchased software. The year that H&R screwed up my Tax return was the only year ever, that I had a repercussion with CRA. Not sure what the first one I used was, but it evolved to Turbo Quick Tax. I pay 28.00 for it every year as it always goes on sale for 10.00 off a month or so after it is first put out for sale. Makes Inuit look silly doesn't it?? It DOES include RRSP and Medical Deductions and it also will move medical deductions, in the case of a couple, to the most applicable tax return. You can bring forward, automatically, your information including gains and losses that carry over. You can do 8 returns with it and unlimited returns for incomes under 25000. There is also a free version. I do 3 returns .... so that is 10 a return. You must feel confident with the software that you are using ... that you are getting the best return possible .... and for 10 bucks ... I feel it is money well spent.

Ufile allows the same thing as TurboTax (formerly QuickTax) for $10 cheaper. Why pay more with TurboTax?

I've never used Ufile, however have used Turbo Tax for three separate returns for $28 --- or $9 per return. I'll be sure to look at Ufile this year.

I have just started using simpletax.ca. Seems to work well, and very user friendly. Looks like it will even work for my son who will be declaring farming income with the requisite forms, etc.
It's free, and they are asking for donations to support their work. Entering forms,T5's, etc. has been easy. Haven't got to the netfile part, though. I hope it works just as easily.
I would not reccomend H&R Block. I've never used them, but I did take an income tax course from them, and I wasn't much impressed by the instructor.
Used to use Tax Freeway, which was a nightmare to navigate through. A paper return would almost be easier
