I am not talking about OPENING an account offshore, I mean just getting the information. At least two financial institutions have advised me that they are forbidden by Canadian law to send me information on their interest rates for example. Are we going to put up with this? Seems like financial censorship and semi-fascism to me.

That's pretty interesting. Did you ask them by what section of what act they are referring to? It would be interesting to know how a Canadian Law can be enforced against a foreign entity.
