Liene. Welcome to Canada! At first I was suspicious about these first posts. But I must say that I get these type of replies every month or so mainly from the ads I post in Craigslist. You can usually tell they are fake as they often have bad grammar, they give you their email address, and make offers too good to believe.
But never the less some how these folks have robot software to scan adds and send an email automaticity. One real giveaway that it is fake they will ask how much are you asking and your ad has a price!
Maybe there are more folks here that know how this robot software works.
And by the way what are your interest rates in Latvia?

Thank You, Kanaka! It is really interesting to talk in Canadian site
Yes, I thougt that was strange he asked me what is the total cost. if he saw my add, he should know the price! now, when you're talkig about robot software, it is getting clear to me with that wierd first question he asked me, because he never saw my add - they are like waiting for some fool, who will believe them and looks like they are everywhere - Greece, Mexico, Russia, Latvia...
I asked Dave Peter if he uses Paypal, he asked me for my bank details again, like he doesn't know what Paypal is.. And I didn't reply him for a while yesterday, he wrote:
"what is going on ? attach me some photo's of the item and also include
your bank details for the payment." and than I wrote I know about banking scam and he is gone now...
sorry, didn't get Your last question..
You mean - how much would it cost for you to take your money out of bank here in Latvia? if so, I don't know, never had an interest...

In my on line ads I always put in............................... MyCity, Cash Only, No Delivery.
Also if you are selling electronics or something fragile ad...No Returns
And my definition of No Delivery means you pick up at my home and will not meet you anywhere.

I do not find pick up at your home safe. That way you are disclosing your address; knowing your address it is easy to find your phone number and name. Then all those things can be used in a bad way. There are pricks who will stop by again and complain that item is not working or request money back. I never do transactions at my place. And I love those who ask me for my phone or cell#... Maybe I am paranoid but I sleep well at night.

There are a lot of scams going on all over the world… I’m in Mexico and was almost a victim of a fraud when selling a Nikon camara… luckily I wised up and detected the fraud in time by verifying on google the name and email of the thieves. There are many. I’ve kept trying to sell the camara I you wouldn’t believe the amount of fraudulent emails I get saying they are interested…. And to make a long story short they all say they have instructed their “bank” to transfer the money – which is on hold until I give them a DHL tracking # - and they send a “copy” with bank LETTERHEAD of the transaction in question – unfortunately many people have fallen – from Chile, Argentina, Spain, Guatemala and Mexico…. That I know of.
I have received notifications from: Welles Fargo bank, Bank of America, Scotia Bank, Royal BAnk of Canada.
These emails are all part of scams …. Be careful
