The Throne Speech allowed details to be released. The cutoff is not far above what many BC families earn with two employed members.
On the other hand, the link shared above leads leads to a page saying that the benefit will only be paid by direct deposit. Last night's news broadcasts said that on-line applications could be made by December 16th, phone-in ones by the 21st. (Correct me if more official sources disagree.)

What i find odd is they base it on net income which means anyone with a higher income who made substantial rrsp contributions will benefit. I will put the money in my emergency fund and make a donation to the food bank.
Good Plan ⬆
And that emergency fund can be used to help pay for the HUGE Tax Increases coming down the pipe ❗

RQS: That was rather sparse - which link are you referring to, and which details were you wanting to correct? If the "top link" was the one at the beginning of the thread, that's from last month and the throne speech only came this week. Or are you contesting the rather imprecise "what many BC families earn with two employed members"? Or the application dates?
I do see that the web site says the 18th for on-line applications, not the 16th. Was that it?

Official Website info.. applications start on the 18th.

I’m hoping there is a check box for using the Federal direct deposit, otherwise it will be keying in bank account info.

Nope....not that I saw. Had to fill in banking info. Took about 20 minutes all total. Mostly waiting for pages to load.

Finally got my application through! It’s been nuts all day.
What's the rush ❓
.

I would think it would be wise to wait a week or so to avoid the 'rush'.
This ⬆ ... let the people who 'Really' need it, go first.
I'll probably wait until sometime in January, to apply for ours. Half will go to charity, and the other half will be set aside to help pay for the HUGE Federal & Provincial Tax Increases next year.

My application went smoothly. I'm looking for a novel way to give the money away. I'm not a fan of mega charity organizations.
Just curious . . .
How long did it take ... what was the turnaround time ❓
Thanks,

couple days short of 5 weeks
Thanks Rick ❗
I just finished applying for our own BC Recovery Benefit. With both of us being retired now (lower incomes), we qualify for the full $1K amount. Now we'll just sit back, and wait for it to show up in our bank account.
We'll probably donate at least half of it to our local Food Bank. Whatever's left will be held in savings, to help pay for the HUGE Federal & Provincial tax increases that are sure to come down the pipe.
It's time to . . .
