At least convert it to gold with the Sprott Physical Gold and Silver Trust ETF (TSX: CEF), formerly known as the Central Fund of Canada.

Gold doesn't pay interest or dividend income, but at least it holds its value and can be a hedge against inflation. It's a store of value. Money under your mattress will lose value year after year.
