I noticed Ideal Savings isn't on the chart.

Is anybody willing to fill out all the details and/or help maintain the chart? It was originally an initiative from a couple of other forum members.

Peter, I will take a look at the chart this weekend and see if I can update it for you.

As a way to help to maintain this chart, how, and to who, should we report updates on the FI that we know/use ?

I'd be happy to give you edit access to the spreadsheet if you can PM me your email address.

Hello, thank you for this chart, it's very helpful.

I would like to suggest a small enhancement. As the first column indicates the meaning of each row, it would be nice if it was also added as the last column so we can have access to this information when scrolling horizontally.

Thanks
Gilles

Thanks, this is done now! However, that chart has otherwise not been updated since 2018, so if anybody would like to help update it, let me know!

Ordering cheques at Maxa Financial is no longer free as indicated in the chart. 12 personal cheques cost $28.90 and 24 cost $31.00 Here is a link to their service fee page:

What a coincidence. I was just thinking about ordering cheques for my MAXA account, and how relatively expensive they are.

I'd never considered third party cheque stock. Does MAXA have to accept third party printed cheques, or would this add any uncertainty to transactions using such cheque stock?

If they must accept the cheques, then any recommendations for third party suppliers would be welcomed!

I have bought personal cheques through ASAP cheques for my Scotia account, albeit some years ago now. https://www.asap-cheques.com/ No issue with the product. The cheques mimic the proprietary product.

I can’t remember who I ordered it from but it was quite a while ago and no issues with the cheques at all. They r all fairly similarly priced too and back then was like half price compared to what CIBC wanted.

MAXA does offer RRIF accounts - both GIC and Savings. If I read the spreadsheet correctly, this is not currently indicated.

People’s Trust also offers RRIFS. It shows once you login. It’s an indirect process. Does not look appealing.
