Amazing! Recently received $25 gift/credit from EQ Bank on my birthday.
I'm very happy with EQ Bank.
Anyone else received $25 credit?

Yes, numerous people over at the RFD threads have reported this since early on. The question is whether they will commit to giving existing customers a birthday bonus later in the year. Since there has been zero official mention of this birthday thing from EQ, there's no way to tell.

I've received the birthday bonus as well. As NorthernRaven said, there is no official mention of the birthday bonus, so I don't know whether it's a one time bonus, a yearly bonus or a bonus until they've hit their customer targets. Only time will tell!

Not EQ but my wife got a happy (belated) birthday card from Oaken last week and it had a $5 Tims card included !

The kicker, for me, is that she closed her account with Oaken back in August and I still have two full GICs with them !!?!!

sf-confused Still, can't fault their marketing savvy and that of EQ. Small potato investment in customer service that pays big in market sentiment..

in february, my new investment advisor from Scotiabank took me to the Four Seasons for a mani-pedi with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and lunch!! I call it my $100K mani-pedi as my portfolio had fallen that much earlier in year (thankfully it has rebounded somewhat)....

Thanks for the laugh, dentgal! Sorry it was at your "expense".
I figure the basic job of most fin advisors in such circumstances is to keep hope alive, so this is consistent.
Myself, I'd prefer a gift card to the grocery store.
