I generally do not believe in these type of survey. Not worth any time. If you do not like their rates you move your money elsewhere. They will notice deposits dropping.

3 prizes! Forget that! How about giving me $15 for my 15 minutes.

I took the survey a few days ago. It took about 5 minutes. I don't remember much about it, other than them asking what other product offerings would interest me. My main takeaway was that they're interested in continuing to broaden their appeal.

EQ is the most technologically advanced of the FIs I deal with - if you can call it an advance. I would call it "dependent".
In any event, because of this, I feel confident that they are tracking our responses. It's not just a generic survey; they are linking your responses to YOU. And they will market accordingly.
However, these thoughts did not occur to me until after I'd done the survey.
They used to pay $5 for a survey but now they're using a cheaper method.
I doubt I'll do another. I've told them I want RIFs. Either they will or they won't.

won't.

I haven't been able to use them for etransfers in a few cases, either because EQ doesn't have autodeposit which was required to send an etransfer from EQ to that company, or because they weren't on the senders list to receive an etransfer from a different company because they're only a small bank. Also, the linkup to Transferwise for foreign transfers is useless to me because the one time I tried it Transferwise deactivated my account over a 20.00 trial run. They also don't have wire transfers, cheques, debit cards, bank drafts, and RRIFs so it can never be my main bank.

Haven't said that I do like them for easy linking to other banks and as a secondary bank for me.

Thanks for that , Peter.

I just finished taking that survey, myself. It went pretty quick for me. It took
~ 8min to complete. On 'average', I gave EQ a 4 (out of 5) on most of the questions, as I think they're a pretty good FI.

I did request that they consider adding RRIFs to their offerings (it was one of the survey questions). And at the end of the survey, I expressed my concerns about their Low long-term GIC interest rates, and I included a link to Peter's GIC Chart (https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/gic-rates/) ... EQ is quite far down the list.

Wish me luck on the survey's $250 draw prize ❗ sf-wink

Cheers,

    Dean

I doubt they would ever want to be a primary bank. Most big banks don't want to do a number of those things either. Among the big bank goals is to go to totally cashless branches (cuts down on bank robberies as a career aspiration for some too).

I doubt that too, but they have made some Significant Additions lately (TFSAs & RRSPs). Fingers crossed they'll soon add RRIFs too.
