I also didn't get an invitation to participate.
I'm banking with EQ from January 2016, when they launched a direct banking operation.
My wife did not get one either BUT I discovered in her profile that mailings/etc from EQ was not allowed...so I chose yes allow it for the future.
Thanks, krwilson. As far as I'm aware, though, I've opted in to both e-mail and snail mail mailings. 😉

You may not have been a client long enough to qualify for the survey, Doug.I also didn't get an invitation to participate.

Thanks for confirming that, Winnie. Interesting DP!

Once again EQ shoots themselves in the foot. Can't fill in a survey because of a non previously disclosed limitation on numbers of surveys that are allowed? Check. Overwhelming response? Check, that only can mean a ton of angry people, because of their extreme lethargy in actually working on creating basic things, for literally years. They probably read my responses and decided, this cash giveaway was yet another of our bad ideas!

So, now we've had 4 instances of misleading or contradictory communication from financial institutions this week. Must be some kind of record.
1. Luminus - will not honour rates in half page colour ad in Toronto Star.
4. EQ - sends email offering $5 for survey, but reneges.
2. ManuLife - contradictory messages about availability of promo.
3. Meridian - sends out email about an offer to members, but nobody here has reported qualifying for it.
Three of these can be summarized as "No soup for you!"

LOL, all in the span of two weeks!
For clarity, Manulife Bank is the odd man out in the "no soup for you!" characterization, right?

Doug

+1 received mine too. I had looked earlier in August but didn't bother yesterday....glad we are all getting it!NOW.....what to do with this windfall.
Hmm... If you put it in the bank at the going rate, it might be worth $10 in 50 years.
I think ice cream sounds a lot more rewarding!
(P.S I got mine Friday too.)
