Hi everyone:

I'm a long-time lurker here, but have benefitted so much. Anyways, just got off the phone with EQBANK this afternoon. Just FYI: There was a close to 2-hour hold time before I spoke with someone.

Also, when I asked about transfers between institutions, the rep. said that could not be done unless you could provide an actual cheque from the other institution. A customized Account Confirmation Form, or any other proof of account from another institution was not accepted at this time. This means one cannot, for example, link to TDDI account. Unless, that is, someone has figured out a way I'm not aware of to get cheques through TDDI.

I believe that EQ, unlike most, is offering bill-pay through their account? I think you might be able to set up TDDI as a payee, and at least "push" money to TDDI, although not pull from it.

NorthernRaven:

That may be true-I forgot to ask. One reason I didn't ask was because often the bill payments are no faster or even slower than EFTs, and there are big limitations on the amounts. I was told only a few thousand dollars at a time by one bank. Sometimes I need to move much more than that at a time.

Can anyone chime in about Bill Payments at EQBank?

EQ told me you can deposit any amount with their mobile app via picture of a cheque. They told me the only limit is $500K per account deposit total.

I noticed today that my initial cheque written on Jan 27 was cashed and posted on Feb 2. My account should be activated in a few days. Hopefully their mobile app will not have the same problem of cheque photographing recognition as it had with the first cheque.

I personally don't do financial transactions over a wireless connection, so the mobile app is not good for my needs.

For the sake of others, can anyone confirm max. 500K in transfer amount via the mobile app. That seems awfully big to me.

That is the maximum you can have in 1 account and they confirmed they will do a pull from your bank via phone or you can use a cheque with their mobile app to the maximum of 500K in your account.
