Can anyone confirm that on the GICs indicated Maturity Date both the Principal and the Interest will be found in your regular "Earn more savings account" or whichever account requested upon signup?

Thanks for your support. I was told by the rep that he would consult his supervisor. As of today, I have heard nothing. I will let you know if anything changes.

Interested to know what happened here. Any update?

It's not the first time that DUCA has done something questionable. Sneaky indeed.

Yes, I can confirm. Just had a 6 month GIC mature on Saturday, January 11th and entire balance including interest was in my account upon logging in on Saturday.

That is reassuring to know. I have a gic maturing Jan 24, into checking account, so good to know I will be able to write a check to transfer funds out
Thanks for the update

Thank you MG! I plan to do a funds pull from an external bank next week. I will calculate interest as 184/365*5.5%*Principal.

Is 5.15% 6 month GIC still available? I can only see 3.75% 6 month GIC in its website.

5.15% is long gone. It was available in August 2024.

I have a 180 day TD with DUCA which initially was set to auto renew on maturity (their default setting). I have recently called them to change it to move those funds into my savings account on maturity day. They confirmed that it was done. However, when I log in, I can see a weird message. Does everbody in this situation see the same message?

Yes, to my surprise, when I checked after reading your post, mine looks exactly the same as yours, save that my maturity date is 24-Jan-25
I had also called in recently, to specify to have the funds mature into my checking account.
So, this is passing strange

I had the same message recently and had to call in and was told that it was because it was a registered term.

Has your TD matured? If so, was everything OK? I am not worried about Duca displaying weird stuff, as long as there are no surprises on maturity day.
For the record, mine is not registered.

Thanks for that-- much appreciated
I'm pretty confident that all is well, and this is most likely some cya wording-- maybe it just amounts to saying you can't get the funds out prior to maturity, and then once matured, it is no longer there?
Whatever

I have had the same message when the GICs are set to transfer and not renew. I have had the same message at other FIs. No worries. It is their way of indicating it will not renew. I have never had an issue with the transfer.

Principal + Interest have been moved into my regular savings account (as requested by me on the phone). All is good.
They did pay interest daily (that is for 184 days) - which is great! Some people were concerned that they may only pay for 6 months (182.5 days) or even only for 180 days, but that was not the case.

For non-registered 6 month Term Deposits which started in July 2024 and matured in January 2025, will most of the interest be reported by Duca on a 2024 T5 and the rest on a 2025 T5 next year? Or, because the interest was paid in full in January 2025, the entire interest will be reported next year on a 2025 T5?
