MS ... can you elaborate on your "Otherwise it’s off to Luminus Who will gladly take non-registered fines at 3%" statment? I cannot find 3% on their website. Do you have to call and ask for a GIC or HISA rate exception?
https://campaigns.luminusfinancial.com/risk-free-rsp/?utm_source=gadst&utm_campaign=rfr2020
Perhaps they will also give this rate for non-registered if you ask.

It’s on another thread that the RRSP promotion at 3% they are willing to take non-registered funds I sent them an email because I wasn’t getting the answer I wanted from DUCA and I got a response to my email saying their promotion is good for non-registered also
I have since spoken to someone different at Duca and was told it would be made available to me as other members on the site were already being told I guess you just need to speak to the right person or be a little more persistent either way 3% can be had likely until February 28 then we won’t see 3% again till next January is my guess

The 5 year GIC @ 3.00% is now available for all members to Jan. 31.
I got the email and the call, but did not find any written documentation on this deal.
Does anybody saw something written somewhere about it ? ( ref: "The 5 year GIC @ 3.00% is now available for all members to Jan. 31." ? )
This is the only thing I found...: https://www.duca.com/rates/term-deposits/

As most people who wanted this rate have done, I suggest you phone them to get the 3%, 5 year rate. I am not sure why you are hesitating to do so, if you are interested.

Why ? : I just normally want to see the "fine print" before I embark on a 5 years deal.
Context: Your statement was suggesting that it was generally available to everyone, so I thought there was something written somewhere about it.
My question is: "Does anybody saw something written somewhere about it ? ( ref: "The 5 year GIC @ 3.00% is now available for all members to Jan. 31." ? )"

I went into Duca today to place money Into the 2.3 percent hisa. I had a large amount in the 3 percent deal endking at the end of January 2020.
The lady told me Duca have a nice package promo for only persons who have the retiring 3 percent. Deal and set me up on it.
It offered a special account at 3 percent for 5 years. The money is fully available at all times but at reduced rate if you withdraw it early like 1.75 in year 1 and 2.5 percent after two to year 4. Then it's 3 percent for withdrawals. Check for details I dont intend to cash mine out.
In essence it's a great deal beating most gics. With unlocked emergency money.
I set up for my balance to be switched to this deal on termination of January final interest payment of 3 percent.
It's seems obvious that duca are seeking to retain the deposits for the popular 3.percent deal which was over subscribed.
Hope this is useful for you.
The above was the original posting by Pennywise for the DUCA offer of 3% for 5 years. I made my investment with DUCA recently based on this information and information from the CSR that I spoke with at DUCA. When I see a posting on this site for something that interests me, I always call the FI directly for confirmation of the details. I have not seen any public (website) details of this offer. If you are waiting for that, you may be disappointed. Sometimes when we are speaking to a CSR at a particular FI we are made aware of unpublicized specials. This is apparently one of those. My proof of purchase, with all the relevant details, is my GIC certificate that was sent out to me in the mail. Again, I suggest that if you are interested, you should phone DUCA and ask your questions.

I'm a bit confused about this 3% rate being talked about. The only 3% offer I have been able to find on the Duca site is for 80 months duration. The 5yr (60 month) rate that I have found is only 2.60%. Can anyone please include a link to the 5yr 3% GIC? Thanks
To my knowledge, there never has been an on line link. It has been a verbal, direct contact offer. You have to phone them and ask for the 5 year GIC at 3%. Good luck.

After being told by a branch CSR that the 3%, 5 year GIC offer was for unregistered funds only, I phoned Duca’s 866 phone number. The CSR there told me the offer WAS TFSA eligible. Went back to my local branch and told them that, but was again told “Not TFSA eligible”. Today I went in to the same branch intending to open an unregistered GIC, 3%, 5 year, cashable. I lamented to the (same) CSR that I wished I could get the deal in a TFSA. Lo and behold, I was told that I could, indeed have the deal for a TFSA!
There has been a lot of confusion surrounding this offer, which may be why Duca is now allowing Registered products. The original Term Deposit Rates sheet given to me in branch states that the offer is for Unregistered only. The new sheet given to me today omits the last sentence “Non-registered products only”.
FYI - the CSR today reiterated that the deal was for Earn More Park Account holders only. From what gicjunkie has told us, this statement is incorrect. Talk to a manager!
Lastly, I was also told today by same CSR, that the new Earn More Savings promotion, of 2.5% until March 31, is going to be 3% beginning Monday, February 3rd. Rates sheets are supposed to be available on Monday. I’ll try to pick one up and check it out. Over and out!

Perhaps this and other issues as well with DUCA. Although I've been a strong supporter and advocate for DUCA the past couple of years, I've noticed a decline in the quality and possibly the training program for telephone CSR's, resulting in poor service and inconsistent responses.
The criticism does not apply to all their CSR's but there seem to be a few lately that do not meet the standards to which I have become accustomed.

Thanks for that heads up, Jen...I'll be watching closely to see if it materializes.

Is for new deposits only or applies to existing balances as well?
