Yes. I used to have a RBC Rewards GOLD. In January, RBC mailed me something that allowed me to upgrade my Rewards GOLD to a Platinum RBC Avion card (no fee for the first year + 15000 RBC points).
I jumped on it for the points, I will convert back to RBC Rewards GOLD in a year if they do not wish to waive the $120 annual fee. I received the Avion card in the mail a few weeks after.

I just wanted to change dates of my trip that I booked using RBC reward points from my AVION card, and I have to pay $250 + RBC Fee + Difference in the price and it comes to over $900.
I was not explained all that originally when I was making a purchase, I waw just told I would need to pay $250.
When my son could not travel on a ticket we booked using Air Miles, he had a year to complete that trip or any other trip with no additional charges.
I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the Avion Visa trip bookiing.
