BMO Airmiles Mastercard has reduced Airmiles rewards from 1 for every $20 to 1 for every $25 of spending. Airmiles rewards for spending at partners has also changed. There was no information about the negative changes and no prior notification. It seems that changes were made secretly without informing clients!

I've been anticipating a downgrade of AirMiles for the last year or so, so am not surprised, but, yes, they should tell people.

On the Redemption side, we had a large amount of "Cash" AirMiles due to Shop the Block etc in 2018/19. We usually try to use them for days when there are bonus redemption specials such as at Metro etc. But we weren't going into the grocery stores this year so we deliberately spent them down. It paid for all our gas this year!sf-smile - and we actually drove more this year than usual due to some special personal circumstances.
