If the American Express Business Gold Rewards Card (https://www.highinterestsavings.ca/american-express-business-gold-rewards
It is quite similar to the business version of the card; here are some differences:
- 15,000 point / Aeroplan bonus instead of 25,000
- $500 minimum spend in the first three months instead of $3000
- 2 points per dollar on eligible travel and gas, grocery, and drugstore purchases instead of a flat rate of 1 point per dollar
Like the business version, there's no annual fee for the first year ($150 a year after that -- quite steep but comparable to a similar CIBC Aeroplan credit card),
I have to write a follow-up about this American Express card: it's not accepted as ubiquitously as Visa or MasterCard, and it comes with an annual fee after the first year. But wow, their customer service is unmatched:
- I seem to always get a customer service rep over the phone right away
- Points transfers are almost instant
- They don't send me much spam mail (although with all card providers, you can just tell them to send you nothing but the essentials)
- Their customer service reps have always been helpful, they seem to actually have the administrative privileges in their system to help me (or they at least know who to talk to), and they even follow up on issues by calling me back
- I had cancelled a previous card with them, and it was a quick and hassle-free process
