This is an offer for existing American Express Airmiles card holders: http://www.americanexpress.ca/lowrate . In a nutshell, receive a 1.99% interest rate for a one-year period (from August 25th 2011 and August 24th 2012), if you sign up for offer by August 18th, 2011. This is a no-fee American Express card, and there is no charge to receive the 1.99% interest offer.

You need to have received an "invitation" to sign up for the offer. However, if you already have this card and did not receive an invitation, best to call Amex to see if you can also get the 1.99% interest rate.

Hi I would like to know if its still possible to get the 1.99 promotional rate. Since I received the addressed ad mail some time ago and did read it however I saw the promotion applied to purchases starting Aug. 25 and mistakenly thought that was start of applications for the promotion. I now see this offer required a response by Aug 18. An oversight on my part for sure. Is there any chance this offer will be repeated soon? I presently have a no fee AMEX air miles card.
