I have look around on the net and come across this card from Laurentian bank which seems like a good competitor of the Scotia momentum. This card have higher annual fee, but it also have higher cashback for recurring payment (3% vs 2%) and free supplementary card which can give it an edge. However, it seems to only be available to Quebec and Ontario resident and they only have one branch in Ontario which is in Ottawa.

This does compare very favourably with the Scotia Momentum Cash Back card, but I think the Scotia Momentum Infinite card would be a better bet for those whose spending habits justify the higher fee.
I don't think the lack of branches is an issue. Laurentian has been around for a long time, and I think it's the parent of B2B bank, usually accessed through deposit brokers. Capital One and MBNA don't have branches either.
