Hi folks, was interested in CT’s persistent 3.7% HISA but wanted to inquire about experiences on getting funds in/out especially for larger balances. Hoping they have FI linking capabilities for larger amounts, and decent customer service in case cash is required in a pinch. Any insights are appreciated!

CTFS maintaining interest at current rate has been a pleasant surprise.
Once you have established links to other financial institutions push/pull works fine. $50000 is the maximum I have transferred.

The hurdle to jump through however is the use of paper forms (Direct Transfer Authorization Form) to set up the links to your financial institution. Thus, download, print, fill out and snail mail a DTA for each institution to CTFS. Once set up everything works like a charm!

There is another idiosyncrasy. I do not have a CT credit card .. only a savings account (GIC historically as well). Two factor authorization is not available for login so I change my password on a regular basis. (Maybe this has changed as I have been with CT Bank for many years or Maybe you'd like a CT mastercard )

Interactions with the staff has always been positive and glitch free.

Soooo .... CTFS is a bit clunky but it's "steady as she goes" and overall I've been content with it.

What is the external account linking process at Canadian Tire HISA? That is, Micro deposit verification using a/c & institution numbers, or Flinks type (you give username/password to 3rd party), or physical (void cheques)? Thanks.
