I am near the end of the simplii promo and have significant funds at motive with an interest rate of 1.55%

Thinking of amalgamating and shifting to my Canadian Tire account but not sure what the account limit is for the interest rate.

I am using motive simply because they have eliminated a cap on the account and the entire deposit has the 1.55% rate.

Anyone know what the CTF ceiling is?
It does not seem to be on the website, which by the way reminds me of websites 10 years ago.

There are no ceilings on deposits.....and when you pull in from your other account, no ceiling on the transfer amount.

If leaving the website in the 1990s means they can keep paying me a higher rate of interest than anybody else, then I'm happy to use their 1990s website

Agreed! Keep the focus on what really counts, especially these days.

Not much different from most other FI's that require a telephone call in that provides a temporary password after the client is authenticated. Once access is achieved, the temp password is updated to your own personal password.

Nothing unusual with Cdn Tire, just providing security for your deposit.

Granted, their initial processing of an application may be slow, perhaps due to limited staff, but their client service representatives are efficient and knowledgeable. Their intake protocols appear to be intended to provide security for clients and protection from fraud.

I am willing to adapt to the idiosyncrasies of each FI I deal with being dedicated to seeking out the most favorable deposit terms available.

Main page at CDN Tire still says 1.8

When I click the account it says 1.55

Figures, as soon as I move in it changes

Yeah, I moved a bulk of the money in to CT after Duca's yearly promotion ended a week ago. I can't move it out because it's still being held, but will have to look at alternative options. Too bad EQ's 2.3% is only on TFSA because of the contribution limit. Oh well.

Locking this thread so that future discussion can continue in a new thread about the 1.55% rate.
