As a supplement to the GIC rates comparison chart I've added GIC rate histories (for non-redeemable GICs) for each financial institution. They only go back a few months for now, but they'll automatically be added to moving forward.

You can access the history tables in 2 ways: click the date links on the GIC comparison chart; or click the "GIC rate history" link on each financial institution's profile page (for those that are listed on the GIC chart).

It's interesting to see just how often Motive Financial and Canadian Tire Financial change their rates. Also interesting to see Tangerine's recent drops; at first it looked like they were going to keep their TFSA and RRSP GIC rates higher, but they too are now at the same lower rates as the non-redeemable GICs. For now Simplii Financial has not matched those Tangerine rate drops!
