Can someone hook me up? Thanks!
I used ertyu's code who answered first. (Got 6 replies)
Just making sure here.... I entered the "Achieva Petal code" after I clicked "Open an account", filled in the instructions, and now I have papers to send my regular mail (greaaaat);
1) but this code is nowhere to be seen in the form. Is this normal ?
2) once I was done with the form, I didn't receive an email confirmation, they just forwarded me back to the "Open an account" form. Odd...

I see Achieva seems to be very popular in this forum. Is it easy to deal with them for a HISA? Are Me to me transfers offered? Minimal service fees? Any issues to be aware of?
Customer service based on Manitoba. Easy account opening procsss. They allow up to 3 external accounts to be linked.
1 free transaction per month... $1 after that. Also if you enroll in estatements you get $1 per month from them.
Issues... They don't like too many withdrawls and have closed peoples accounts in the past... But i haven't heard this lately

I wasn't one of the ones who sent you a code, but to be honest I applied online a couple years back, but yes, I did also have to snail mail some documents if I recall correctly, and I'm mailing from Ontario (to Manitoba).
I agree, their website does look ancient. I will say they have very slowly made improvements, but this is more or less just lipstick. They did however, decide to add a great feature, which is online secure live chat, which I've used more than once and are pretty good, with very little wait time.
They also have an internal private messaging system, very much like this website, and are pretty good with turn around time to respond usually within 24 hours.
That said, I also opened an account with Hubert, another Manitoba CU, but mainly for their better USD rates and their website is even more archaic but does the job, but I guess that's the cost of getting better rates, but my hope is that these FI are reading these blogs and will learn to adapt with changing times and eventually decide themselves to invest into a better more functionally intuitive website, otherwise they risk losing prospective clients, which by the looks of it, sounds like you decided not to open the account at Achieva.
Good luck mate.

I was ... quite frankly disgusted by the people on this forum who bombarded me with codes but could not answer a simple question.
One way to avoid being "bombarded" by offers on referral promos is to just choose someone who has posted that they use that financial institution and whose input you have learned something from or appreciated. Send them a PM and ask them to refer you. If you want this forum to thrive, it's good to reward people who actually contribute to it.

Thank you Loonie for your take. I, and likely others, have provided feedback to posters. In my case by Private Messaging (PM). Your point that feedback can be public in these forums is wise.
My comparative review: While Achieva Financial is an adequate financial institution unless one requires Cheques and a Debit Card I have found Hubert Financial, also a Manitoba Credit Union, to be a superior Financial Institution on a number of fronts.
Hubert Financial answers their customer service phone line immediately, has a Secure Online Chat function, their representatives are knowledgable, they do not charge for transactions, they pay better interest rates than Achieva, and Hubert offers their incomparable "One Year Quarterly term deposit" with the option of redeeming at each Quarter and receiving the interest for the prior Quarterly periods.
While both Achieva and Hubert currently do not have the latest in web site platforms, and as I recall the sign up process requires some snail mailing to set up accounts, both these Manitoba Credit Unions are deposit insured through a Manitoba organization (not the Manitoba government) with no limit on deposit size.
Receiving Achieva's referral rebate for signing up should be but one consideration in choosing which Financial Institution to use 🙂 And Hubert Financial on occasion also has referral credits.

The "organization" is called The Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba

I wish an achieva financial referral code for an account opening. please pmwhat happens if the code used was already exhausted?
I've only used mine twice, I'll pm you. If you need any additional info.. Just ask
I Believe if the code is exhausted you still get the $25..but the other person doesn't. However I know mine isn't exhausted yet so no worries there.

I looks like they're still offering this program, giving the referrer and referree (not referee) each $25.00. Hubert Financial has a similar program, but only two or three times per year for about a month at a time. I don't know whey they don't make it year-round.

Make sure you initial deposit is $250 though for it to "count"!
Cheers,
Doug
