Sent PM. I didn't need to snail mail documents. I don't think most needed to just a few to verify identity. Let me know if you have any other questions.

After reviewing all forum comments, I've decided to open an Achieva account. I wouldn't mind getting a Petal referral code. Thanks in advance.

I personally would like to see the whole requesting Petal codes and other referral codes disallowed. I'm not saying we should permit the posting of one's Petal or referral codes either, but I do think, personally, these sort of threads tend to spam the forums.

What I'd like to see: people put a referral code (or two) in their forum signature. That way it's much more passive, no repeatedly "bumping" referral code request threads and private messaging. It shouldn't be hard, either, to find someone with a referral code in their signature, either.

I opened an account today using a referral from this thread and did not have to snail-mail any documents. I initially applied with the Android app and used my drivers license. Due to errors on my end, I had to verify identity and was able to do so through email. The initial deposit cheque was done through their mobile app.  

I actually ended up having to mail them documents. But that could have been because I transferred a TFSA account? Or because I am only a permanent resident and not a Canadian citizen. Who knows.

Also, just a note for new clients. I received the referral bonus, but it took 3-4 weeks after the account opening. In case anyone is impatient.
